Match Report: Pelsall 3 vs Scott Arms Spartans 3 (Pelsall Win 5-4 on Penalties)

In a dramatic cup encounter, Pelsall edged out Scott Arms Spartans in a tense penalty shootout after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

The game got off to a slow start for Pelsall, who struggled to get a foothold in possession as Scott Arms Spartans dominated early proceedings. The Spartans seized their opportunity and raced into a commanding 3-0 lead, putting Pelsall on the back foot.

Things took a turn for the worse for Pelsall when James Bland received a yellow card and was subsequently sent to the sin bin, leaving them down to 10 men for a period. The situation worsened as Bland received a second yellow card, reducing Pelsall further to 10 players. Despite these setbacks, the resilient Bland brother stepped up to inspire his team, netting two crucial goals to bring Pelsall back into the match. Reiss Banks also scored a superb finish, netting the second goal in between Bland’s strikes to level the score at 3-3.

With the match evenly poised, both sides pushed hard for a winner, but neither could find the net in the remaining regulation time, leading to a tense penalty shootout. Harper’s team talk proved to be a masterstroke, as he confidently stated, "Paul Reeves will save one penalty, so as long as we don’t miss, we will win the shootout." Reeves then rose to the occasion, making a crucial save to give Pelsall the edge.

The decisive moment came from Jank Anderson, who smashed home the winning penalty, sending Pelsall into the next round of the cup.

A hard-fought and entertaining match, Pelsall's resilience and composure under pressure saw them through to the next stage.

Match Report: Pelsall Cricket Club 9 - 1 FC Old Horns

Sunday League Football – A Day to Remember for Pelsall
Pelsall Cricket Club delivered a statement performance with a 9-1 demolition of FC Old Horns.

The opener came from a trademark Pelsall long throw – something the opposition had mocked pre-match – but it backfired as Wamba smashed home for 1-0.

Moments later, a long throw was cleared to the edge of the box, where Henry unleashed a thunderous 35-yard volley straight into the top corner. An outrageous goal to make it 2-0 at the break.

Despite the lead, manager Harper had stern words at half-time, urging his forwards to show more teamwork and less selfishness in front of goal.
The second half? Total domination – and it became the Johnson Show.

3-0 – Great work from Johnson saw Bland tap into an open net.

4-0 – A shot from Johnson fell to Bland, who turned it home again.

5-0 – Chambers volleyed in a Di Canio-style strike, Johnson with the assist.

6-0 – Sam Green added another.

7-0 – Johnson crossed for Bland to complete his hat-trick with a fine header.

8-0 – Johnson teed up Chambers to slot home.

9-0 – Chambers smashed in from 20 yards to seal his hat-trick.

The crowd went wild as manager Harper subbed off both hat-trick heroes – Chambers and Bland – to a round of applause.

A late goal from FC Old Horns denied Pelsall the clean sheet, but it did little to take away from a fantastic team performance.
Man of the Match: Henry – for a world-class goal he’ll probably never score again

Today Pelsall took on Bradmore who we believe to be the best side in our league. First 20 minutes Pelsall held their own and creating the better chances. Bradmore soon gain led control of the game and ran out easy winners. Pelsall dug in and out in a good shift against a side that should be a prem side not a div 3 team in our opinion.

Pelsall finish the season in a disappointing defeat but overall should check proud of how there season has turned out.

We will go again next season
