Well done to our GolfSixes Team who played their first ever Scottish Golf event at St Boswells yesterday with Coach, PGA Professional Ailsa Murphy.

We are very proud of you all and wish the team all the best in the next event at Hawick!

What a day for our Peebles Golf Club juniors at our first ever GolfSixes event! ⛳️

Six players from the Academy proudly represented the club today and from start to finish we had a fantastic experience.

A huge thank you to St Boswells for hosting such a well organised event. The course was in excellent condition, the staff were very welcoming and all the junior golfers playing were friendly, supportive and full of encouragement. Exactly what we love to see! 😎

I’m incredibly proud of our six players. They played some great golf, supported one another throughout, represented Peebles Golf Club brilliantly and showed real courage and maturity on the course.

To top it all off, we finished 3rd place! 🏆

Thanks also to Torwoodlee and Hawick for helping make it such an enjoyable afternoon.

The draws for this year’s Club Championship Week will take place live in the Clubhouse on Friday evening at 7pm!

Come along and find out who will be playing who in the first rounds of each of our categories.

Matches will be played week commencing Monday 22 June, with our Finals Day taking place on Saturday 27 June.

We welcomed over 100 members and visitors to Peebles for the Hamilton Property Ladies Open Tri-Am, with the new event format proving popular.

Congratulations to the winning team of Julie Young, Lisa Scrimger & Sam Hamilton, who topped a tightly packed leaderboard to win by a shot with a score of 81. The runners-up were the trio of Judy Cairns, Katie Brackenridge & June Salsman, with Denise Richards, Susan Welsh & Sheila Cuthbertson in third place on 79.

Always one for a challenge, our member Grahame Connor is taking on a new charity adventure later this month as he plays golf for 24 hours on the 20th and 21st June, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer.

Graham will begin his challenge at 4pm on the Saturday, and will play through the night (hopefully not too much darkness on the shortest night!), aided by night balls and lights. He will continue playing into the Sunday, including teeing up in the Beltane Handicap event, aiming to finish around 4pm on the Sunday alongside his brother Ian.

Grahame has recently been diagnosed with early stage prostrate cancer and he is aiming to raise awareness of this type of cancer, which is one that is the most common in men - one in 8 men tested are having a positive result. Grahame, like many others, will have seen the huge campaign that Sir Chris Hoy has been promoting, which he said "probably saved my life, as it highlighted the symptoms that I acted on as soon as they showed and the reason I was caught early."

𝐀 𝐅𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 🏆

We had a unique championship qualifying family success at the weekend as Kris Hopkirk and Norry Hopkirk topped the qualifying in the Gents A and B Championship!

Norry rolled back the years, carding a net 64 to win the prestigious Ford Trophy, securing the No.1 spot on the B Qualifying leaderboard with rounds of 81 and 74. Twice a runner-up in the Club Championship, Nor will go into the B Championship looking to replicate his success in the same event in 1982!

Kris, who won the Club Championship in 2012 and 2023, will be aiming for the Hatrick, having won the Kenny Allan Memorial Trophy by finishing leading qualifier with excellent rounds of 65 and 71.

Congratulations to both … a proud moment for the Hopkirk family! 👏🏼

Peebles player determined to climb all the way back up the ladder for second time in his career

We’re delighted to be hosting the first ever On Course Foundation Scottish Championship at Peebles today, with 30 veterans taking part. Good luck, gents!

The On Course Foundation is a charity established in 2010, with the aim of supporting the recovery of injured and sick Service personnel and veterans through nationwide confidence building golf events and opportunities for employment in the golf industry.

Congratulations to Kris Hopkirk who led the qualifying for the Club Championship, carding rounds of 65 and 71 for a 136 aggregate, and with it winning the Kenny Allan Memorial Trophy!

Two-time champion Kris finished five shots clear of youngster Ellis Tate and Ross Wolfenden as well as the experienced Mike Foley, who all finished the qualifying on the 141 mark.

Three other former champions finished inside the top 8 - Steven Waldie, Norman Forsyth and Colin Fraser.

Aggregate scores and qualifiers across all championship categories will be posted on the noticeboard, withe Club Championship Week taking place from Monday 22nd June to Saturday 27th June.

Well done to all the qualifiers!
