Sporty-Kids A fun sports based class for children from 18 months to 5 years old in Peebles. It is a movement and multi- sports activity class. What will the class involve?

What is “Sporty-kids

All classes are delivered to a high standard by a qualified PE Teacher Laura Chrystie. We cater for pre-school girls and boys (3 – 5 yrs) and parent and toddler (18months – 3yrs). The class has been running for 11 years in Peebles. All classes start with a warm-up and a little bit of light stretching. This is then followed by a variety of activities that will explore differen

t movements (running, jumping, stopping, directions, rolling, dodging etc), balancing, catching, bouncing, kicking, batting, striking and lots more. We play different games and challenges. Basically it will involve fun, fun and more fun! Why are these skills important? What will my child gain? The skills that your child will develop in the classes will help their hand eye co-ordination and basic movement of their body, also encouraging self confidence and self-esteem. They will learn cooperation skills, how to work alongside others and what sportsmanship is. Did you know that movement is at the core of all learning? And did you know that kids who enjoy sport and exercise tend to stay active throughout their lives? So when do the classes run? Classes at Peebles community centre (Drill Hall) Peebles ( please note due to high school fire and covid classes are not at Drill hall. They are cardrona village hall and Scout hall peebles. Parent/Toddler Classes for 18 months+
- Mon & Tues 9.30 -10.15
- Friday 10am-10.45am
Pre-School Classes for 3-5 Year Olds
- Mon- 10.30 - 11.15
- Mon 1-1.45pm
- Friday 9-9.45am

Classes are booked as a block in advance and paid for to secure your space. Please feel free to message me with any other questions.

When toddlers copy each other, you can see learning happening in real time.

At sporty-kids, this is part of how development is supported. Children are given structured environments and appropriate equipment, but they also learn a huge amount by observing and repeating what others do.
