Congratulations to John Shackleton of Pateley Bridge Bowls Club on WINNING the division 3/4 merit at Almscliffe Bowling Club today.

A great achievement winning all his 3 games beating Paul Gibb of Black Swan Club in the final 21 - 18.

Brian Walker again won the open merit beating ex Pateley player Tom Beecroft 21 - 16.

Both Semi finals and the final are to be played on the same day..

Pateley Bridge Bowls Club had a bowls competition today, together with a pop up cafe. It looks as though we have raised approximately £488 in total ( final amount to be confirmed) to be shared between Yorkshire Cancer Research and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Thanks to all of you for making it a successful day, that is an amazing amount. Thank you to Ann, John, Ruth and Joan for running the pop up cafe, and especially Ann Shackleton for making all the home made cakes. Thanks to Tim, Tracey and Nicky for organising the bowls competition.

Plus thanks to all those who took part in the bowling, we had some great matches. It all helps in making it a successful day.

Congratulations to Ken Blakey who beat Andrew Simpson in the final. He is the latest winner of the Dora Holdsworth Shield. Picture below of Ken Blakey receiving the shield from Tim Sydney.

Pop up cafe in the recreation ground tomorrow from 12 through to 4 pm. Plus there is a choir singing at the bandstand from 2pm.

Tea coffee and cakes available. Plus a chance to bowl if you fancy giving it a go, please bring flat trainers.

Tomorrow we are raising funds for Robert Ogden cancer treatment centre in Harrogate.

All are welcome.
