In a nutshell, the only fitness background I ever really had was on a dance floor a
t raves and the London club scene. Spiritual experience came from growing up attending church with the family into my early teens. Work wise predominantly dead end jobs with little or no room for growth and development except, to a point, my last work place to their credit. The birth of my son in my 30’s was the main trigger for change both mentally and physically with Yoga being at the back of my mind for several years before finally attending my first class. There was always an inner voice saying there is more going on somewhere, a knowing of a greater connection but thats not why I started my Yoga journey at the age of 35, although arguably it started the first time it was considered in the quantum state of potentiality. It was fitness though, the need to improve the health of my body, which made me start, plain and simple. The rest simply fell into place around that, physically and psychologically things improved. The physical practice gave me confidence and not just physically but a belief that changes were possible in myself and in my surroundings, my environment. It really is all entangled, as you start pulling on one thread the whole ball starts to unravel releasing all the knots and blockages, what holds you back begins to fall away and things become clearer and clearer as you move through the process. I’m someone who likes facts to support findings and when I was introduced to quantum physics in a battered old work van one cold winters day the voodoo magic of spirituality started to unravel in scientific form right before my eyes. The vedas had been described as the science of life, now modern science was catching up with ancient philosophy how could I not be fascinated. You begin to see connections of how things fit together from little snippets you pick up along lifes journey, from church, through experimentation, through study and through practice things begin to tie into one another. I’ve just started touching on this in a blog which can be found here: https://www.yogeekyoga.com/post/philosophical-science which will build and grow over time and can branch off in any direction at any time! You can find out more in many ways, one of which would be to drop me a message or give me a call sometime, it’ll be great to connect.
