Well that’s it... my first season on tarmac done. I only done 6 of the 10 round but the first year was all about learning. God have have I learnt!!! Done my first race with bmb in April with only being on the bike probably twice unable to master the clutch, change down gears or even able to stop and hold the bike up properly without dropping it. To mastering my gears, full throttle race starts and learning the correct racing lines.
Iv not had very much practice away from the racing due to family commitments and dad having to work so Iv been chucked in the deep end... but Iv come out of it swimming.
There has been many ups and downs. Iv had a few big painful crashes... but my dad always gets me back on to finish the race. Had loads of bikes problems but again my dad and a good friend we met at racing Martin Brookes has helped to get me back on track. Iv had one training session with tkc which helped but it’s been mostly the advice Iv had from Steven Brookes that has brought me on...
I pretty much blew up one engine and the replacement my dad thought was under power. Until the very last race my dad never even played with my gearing.
I know there was only the 2 of us in our class and when you look at it Iv come last but if you look at the qualifications through the year and the sm junior90s I started to beat my dad said he could see the progress Iv made. Like he kept saying to me.... it don’t matter it’s a learning year... next year is our year.
I would like to say the biggest thanks to Andy at on all floors and Craig Wildish-conway at sixteen designs for the support Iv had in my first year and hope I will have your support next year....
also my friends and family who have supported me this year. Iv loved every minute of it...
now for me it’s some chill out family time and Xmas while my bike gets a rebuild from the ground up from martin. Then next year I will start my out of season training with Steven Brookes so he can get me sharp and on the pace for next season 👌🏻
