Parkend Cricket Club Village club in the Forest of Dean. 1st XI play in GCCL Div 6A, 2nd XI play CGF Division 2 West, U15s

We are a friendly village club, playing in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Our picturesque ground is in the middle of the village of Parkend. We run two adult Saturday sides and junior sides at Under-13 and Under-15 level. Both Saturday sides play in the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Forest of Dean League, the 1st XI in the Premier division and the 2nd XI in Division 2 West. Our Under-15 and Under-

13 XIs play in the Leadon Vale Youth Cricket League, and the Under-15s also also play in the Gloucestershire Youth Cricket league. We also run a side in the Midweek Verderers Cup competition, and entertain several touring teams which regularly visit our village. We have a healthy playing membership and we always welcome new members. Whether you are an established player or you are interested in joining us for the first time, we look forward to seeing you at the ground.

Weekend Results 🏏

The 1st XI were involved in a tight contest against Rockhampton which eventually ended in a tie. Half-centuries from Robbie Jones and Tom Tremlett helped us post 225, but Rockhampton matched the total with one ball remaining. However, the Brain brothers combined to take a wicket from the final delivery, ensuring the scores finished level.

Meanwhile, the 2nd XI recorded a convincing 98-run victory over Ruardean. Andy Taylor led the way with the bat, scoring an impressive century to help the team reach 222. Andy James then produced an excellent spell with the ball, taking five wickets as we secured a comfortable win.

A good weekend for the club, with strong performances across both teams and some outstanding individual contributions.

Belated results!

Last weekend saw the 1st XI lose a nail-biter away at Oldlands. Meanwhile, an outstanding innings from Andrew James ensured the 2nd XI were victorious at home against Alvington & Woolaston!

PCC Lottery. Firstly can I apologise for not updating you with the 2 most recent results. I have been away in Weymouth for the week hence the lack of updates. So the winning number on Saturday 6th June was No 50 so this means the prize rolled over to the 13th June, a roll over prize of £50. Secondly, unbeknown to me, the Lottery has decided to do 2 draws on a Saturday, starting on 13th June. This has caused a rethink on deciding who wins. After consulting with senior officers of the Club, namely Deaver and Jimmy Sauter, it has been decided that the prize should go to the first bonus ball number drawn out and, as per the lottery website, this is number 44. So Pete Timmins, (or rather Emma Timmins!) has won £50 for the 13th June. Please feel free to contact me if you would like a fuller explanation as to how we arrived at this decision. Kingsholm are the visitors to the PCG this evening, with play starting at 6pm. Come down and support the junior section as they get their season underway!

Weekend results!

A mixed afternoon for the club, with the 1st XI falling to a 5 wicket defeat against Arcadians at the PCG. Elsewhere, the 2nd XI secured an impressive 6 wicket victory away to Westbury-on-Severn. The bowlers set the platform with an excellent display, dismissing Westbury for 104, before the batsmen comfortably chased down the target with just under 10 overs remaining.

The Midweek XI secured their first win of the season last night with an 11-run victory over Aston Ingham. Liam Brain starred with an unbeaten century, helping us post a total of 158, which proved too much for the hosts to chase down.
