Day 164 – Sun 13th June

A nervous start today worried that Strava did actually record, and sure I lost or second or three checking it was recording. Still the time was excellent at 6:22, although the distance slightly down at 1.43km.

Two days to go

Day 163 – Sat 12th June

Having thought on my midnight run the time had not been recorded and doing it again only to find it had recorded after the second run, I arrived home after this morning’s run to find for some reason it did not record any movement. Unfortunately though I didn’t have time to go out immediately for another attempt. So some 12 hours later I went again whether it was the heat or doing it again but a little slower at 6:36 for 1.44km.

Went through the 235km mark which is going to be last full parkrun distance I will run, so the equivalent of 47 parkrun have been completed, at an average pace of 24:04, which is actually 15 seconds under my parkrun best, so looking forward to the restart which will hopefully be in just a couple of weeks.

Three days to go.

Day 162 – Fri 11th June

Well into the final stretch now with just 4 days left after today and today’s peak passed means there’s just two countries left, and they share the final peak which I think you can guess what that is. Anyway today’s run came in at 1.46km and was 6:29, so a little quicker than yesterday, but a slower average at 4:26 per km.

That peak passed to day was in Pakistan 🇵🇰 and is a well known mountain K2, which is 8,611m high.

Day 161 – Thurs 10th June

Most importantly today was my Wife’s birthday and so with a day off work it was a bit later start. Again not sure how but 2 days after running 1.39km today it was 1.50km run, the time though was 4 seconds quicker than yesterday at 4:31 so my second best average pace at 4:21 per km.

Finally after about 3 weeks it was past another peak today and that was Kangchenjunga in India 🇮🇳 which is a massive 8,588m high.

Day 160 – Wed 9th June

As I said I thought I ran in the same parts and yet today the distance was back up to 1.47km, which means as the average pace was just a second slower at 4:29 per km the overall time seems way slower at 6:35.

As I went through the 230km & 18:30 hour marks it was also the last day without any peaks passed for a couple of days.

Day 159 – Tues 8th June

I often wonder how the distance is measured as I’m pretty sure I run the same parts of the road every time, yet today it was measured at 1.39km. I think it must have been on the hill climb part as my time was 2:16, and overall it meant my quickest time by 9 seconds at 6:12 🥇.

Day 158 – Mon 7th June

After another long day at bowls, qualifying for two county quarter finals over the weekend, the legs were quite heavy and so slower again at 6:46, although the distance was longer at 1.47km. A slightly quicker average pace, taking a second of yesterdays pace.

Day 157 – Sun 6th June

After a long day playing bowls yesterday legs were a bit tired and so was a little slower today at 6:36 for the slightly shorter 1.43km, struggling on the hill at 2:34. The slowest average pace at 4:37 per km for nearly a month excluding the midnight run.

Day 156 – Sat 5th June

An early start for the weekend and an average time of 6:31 for 1.44km. That time taking me through the 18 hour mark, and just a little bit under 225km.

Day 155 – Fri 4th June

Consistent distance at 1.43km so a quicker time of 6:21 meant I was quicker than yesterday. That was also my quickest time, but with the shorter distance the average pace was a little slower than the quickest, still good at 4:26 per km.

Final route photo and this is looking back along the flat section at the top, usually where I try to recover before rejoining the hill for the final downhill section. With quite a long flat section, as well as the start finish straight I’m sure the average gradient of 7.4% is an big underestimation of the actual steepness of the hill.

Day 154 – Thurs 3rd June

Quicker again at 6:29, but distance was a little down at 1.43km so a slightly slower average pace than yesterday at 4:32 per km. Three little ducks 🦆🦆🦆in a row as now run exactly 222km, and my estimated finish time exactly 19:15:00.
