Well finally some of the lads managed to get a day out to Santa Pod on Wednesday for their first drift day of the year.
The day went on pretty smoothly for them apart from a few minor incidences.
Simons Skyline decided it didnt like to have water in the plug holes after its first run out. Quick back to the pits to sort that out, cleared the water and was mint for its next session. After said session Simon came back to the pits and had a little fire under the bonnet 🤦♂️ one of the vac lines had moved from earlier in the day and sat on top of the manifold. Quick sort of that and he was back out with no other issues 👌
Think its now time he invested in some lock mods to pull some bigger angles.
Shanes E36 Touring with its first time out since having a fair bit of work done and a bolt in cage added. But now transported with truck and trailer hire from Newmarket Trailers.
He finally came out on matching drift wheels but this cause a slight issue of more grip than he was used to. Tweak to the suspension and back out for some more laps.
However running wider tyres than normal, caused a tyre to delam after just catching the arch and smashing the fresh paint. Back in with a hammer and grinder and that soon sorted the low spot on the arch. Back out for some more sessions and he was smashing it. Hopefully get to see some more seat time for him this year too.
And finally, Sam made it out for his coupes debut outing. This was his first time out running some 245/40s and his new gravity performance lock kit. The 245s made for some interesting learning for him in the pens, but he soon got used to that and headed to the big track. Back into the pits after a session to check the car over and top up any fluids. He was back out and lapping well.
Now hes decided its time to start his M57 swap. So itll all be learning again when that project has been completed.
Was a good day for all there, especially after seeing the boys faces after their first sessions. Grinning from ear to ear and bringing back the love that had kinda been lost for it all over the past couple of years.
Hopefully be many more to come this year but with more of the team out to party.
Have some pics of the day from resident photographer Blackett Photography and a few from Dan Martin Media
