On Saturday 3rd August, members and friends enjoyed our second annual "Bowl, BBQ and Fun Night", which was raising funds to help celebrate the Club's Centenary in 2021. Unfortunately last year's glorious weather wasn't quite repeated, but over 60 (many of them new to the game) enjoyed half a dozen ends before the heavens opened. It didn't stop our stalwart BBQ team, who managed to cater for well over 100. The evening finished with a Fun Night of games, raffles and a quiz, and a presentation to the first visitor to get a "chalker" and to the highest up rink. Thanks to all those who came along, and to all those who helped organise this very successful event.

On the evening of Friday 12th April the greens were opened, with Immediate Past President of the Ladies Section, Mrs Pam Earl, delivering the first jack. The flag was raised by Mrs Moira Bryan, Chair of the Executive Committee.Some members of the Gents Section, plus visitors, played a few ends, and then enjoyed hospitality in the Clubhouse.

On Saturday 4th August members and friends enjoyed a Bowl, BBQ and Fun Night, organised by the Centenary Group to raise funds for our celebrations in 2021. 54 players, some of them new to the game, enjoyed a few ends in the sunshine, and around 100 people sat down to a burger with all the trimmings, prepared by our expert chefs(!). The evening was rounded off by a mini "Fun Night", with a raffle and the chance to win some cash. Many thanks to all who organised it, helped on the day, and came along to support this very successful venture.

The greens opened on Friday 13th April, and despite the rather cold weather, 16 of the members and invited guests managed to play 5 ends. The silver jack was delivered by Claire McGroarty, daughter of Gents' President John McGroarty. Despite not having played before, Claire managed to get a toucher with her first bowl - very impressive! The flag was raised by Honorary President, Matt Paul, and Chair of the Executive Committee, Moira Bryan. Members and guests then enjoyed hospitality in the hall.
The opening dance was held on Saturday 14th, when members and visitors were entertained by vocalist Andy Sommers, as well as enjoying a fish supper.
The draw was made for the Centenary Group raffle of 6 bottles of spirits, when £111 was added to our fund-raising for 2021. The winner was club member, John Forbes - well done! Thank you to all who bought tickets.

Hawkhead Ladies enjoyed their annual Christmas Beetle Drive. A representative from Parkinsons UK came along, and was presented with a cheque for £1000.
