Mental Health Awareness Week -
As we almost reach the 2 year point of us calling it a day at SMBC, I feel it timely to highlight some ideas to help anyone struggling in these challenging times. I’m a firm believer in a Problem Shared is a Problem Halved, and would like to offer anyone who may benefit from a chat or a messenger conversation to drop me a note. Be assured I am not here to judge or remedy your personal situation, but I have a good ear, and some life experiences that may help relate or provide direction on how to help.
These times are testing for us all, but a good way to look at it, is what would be a personal goal to aim for when part-normal comes back. Some ideas:
- Join a new football club
- Find a new exercise regime
- Meet new friends
- Learn new skills
- Talk about my struggles
- Lose weight
- Work smarter not harder
- Drink less alcohol
- Reduce the amount of gambling
- Be kinder to some people
- Make more time for yourself
- Help people around you more
I do not claim to be an expert in any way, but our combined aims need to be how we can improve our own health and well-being in preparing for change. If you need to chat, drop me a message. If you want to say hello and nothing more, drop me a message. If you need life or career advice, drop me a note. If you are struggling with anything, drop me a note.
Please don’t suffer in silence, we built a youth football club to support our young people, and they and their friends and families supported us when we needed it, so consider this as our time to offer something back.
Stay safe everyone and have a great weekend ❤️🤍🖤
