Hi guys, just so you know tomorrow will be the funeral of my Grandpa and SMBC club legend, Frank Barrett, where he will be put to rest after a long and fulfilling life. He was always up for a joke as most of you will be very aware and always loved his time he spent with the team on match days and especially team parties. There will be a small service tomorrow at 12:00 that will be live streamed (if you wish to watch, please dm me) and the burial at 13:15 - St Convals. Thank you for being a part of his life.

Cheers Adam ❤️🤍🖤

Mental Health Awareness Week -
As we almost reach the 2 year point of us calling it a day at SMBC, I feel it timely to highlight some ideas to help anyone struggling in these challenging times. I’m a firm believer in a Problem Shared is a Problem Halved, and would like to offer anyone who may benefit from a chat or a messenger conversation to drop me a note. Be assured I am not here to judge or remedy your personal situation, but I have a good ear, and some life experiences that may help relate or provide direction on how to help.
These times are testing for us all, but a good way to look at it, is what would be a personal goal to aim for when part-normal comes back. Some ideas:
- Join a new football club
- Find a new exercise regime
- Meet new friends
- Learn new skills
- Talk about my struggles
- Lose weight
- Work smarter not harder
- Drink less alcohol
- Reduce the amount of gambling
- Be kinder to some people
- Make more time for yourself
- Help people around you more
I do not claim to be an expert in any way, but our combined aims need to be how we can improve our own health and well-being in preparing for change. If you need to chat, drop me a message. If you want to say hello and nothing more, drop me a message. If you need life or career advice, drop me a note. If you are struggling with anything, drop me a note.
Please don’t suffer in silence, we built a youth football club to support our young people, and they and their friends and families supported us when we needed it, so consider this as our time to offer something back.
Stay safe everyone and have a great weekend ❤️🤍🖤

All good things come to an end. After continuous year on year improved league positions within PJDYFL at 11 a sides, and ending it with a 4th place in Division 1, we have decided to call it a day!
As coaches to the only 3 original players left in the team, it’s with a heavy heart that we make this decision.
It has been an absolutely brilliant journey and we have enjoyed many high’s along the way.
It’s without doubt the memories will remain for a very long time.
Not many clubs will be run with the honesty, integrity and professionalism that we have always strived for, with our players at the heart of everything we have done.
This has never been anything other than bringing local lads together, teaching them life and social skills and demonstrating a teamwork that was about respect than a win at all costs mentality.
We have made many friends in the game, and ignored many doubters who couldn’t last the course, but our heads will remain high knowing we done it our way and it was a pleasure every step of the way!
All the best to our players, parents, fans and SMBC followers, and keep playing.

League game - St Mirren 1-2 St Peters
A disappointing ending to a very evenly matched game. We led 1-0 from a great free kick and a super header from Marc. An unfortunate hand ball gave away a penalty, and our opponents equalised.
We continued to create the better chances in the first half but couldn’t convert. The second half was very even but a well worked counter attack and fine finish seen us lose the match 1-2. Nothing to split the teams but the result didn’t go our way! We meet again in a few weeks time.

A fine 3-0 win against a very much changed OLM. Goals from Pearse (2) and a wonder strike from Sean! Conditions were a challenge but we overcame the driving rain that never seemed to let up. Well done boys, you responded very well considering lack of games and training recently.
