Thursday thoughts time…

Nothing poignant or that, but I am so very blessed with the clients that are working with me just now.

Lots of people making amazing strides in their fitness journeys and can’t be more proud of them.

In other news 🎃 🤣

Have a cracking weekend when it comes folks 🙌🏻

Didn’t really have much in my head until I hit record cos I did commit to keeping these going but turns out I do have stuff to mention.

It’s been a really positive week, with clients and personal stuff.

Im seeing some really brilliant things happening with people im working with and I couldn’t even go through them all in 1 minute, but I’ve mentioned a couple of real successes this week.

But admirable mentions also should go to the runners i working with just now, the ones who are losing weight, the ones that are getting stronger, the ones who’s heads are in a much better place… I could go on and on.

Well done to you all, proper proud of how well you are doing.

Oh and I’m getting married 6 weeks on Saturday! 💒 it’s coming round fast man.

Hope you all have a top weekend 🙌🏻

One of the biggest reasons I find clients struggle to stay consistent with training is time.

Life is busy, kids have stuff on, you have work, family or whatever else you have to deal with.

If that were to happen to me and I found myself short of time I wouldn’t do a 5 day split if it didnt fit into my life.

I’d simplify it.

3 good sessions.
Focus on the basics, bang for buck so to speak.
Keep moving outside the gym.
Get on with the other stuff.

You don’t always need to do more.

Sometimes you just need to make better use of what you’ve got.

Thrive Thursday came back today and so did some of the amazing people who have joined us before the summer holidays happened.

Wee Maureen who comes along to the class owns an allotment and grows her own veg. She brought me a gift! 🤣

Im honestly so privileged to be the guy that folk choose to help them hit their goals and won’t ever say no to a lovely gift. Thanks to Maureen for bringing it in and can’t wait to have the Thrive troops back in next week for Week 2 💪🏻

The kids are back at school… (hooray! Unless you are a teacher 🤣)

And after weeks of holidays, days out, childcare, late nights and having absolutely no idea what day it is… there’s finally a bit of routine coming back.

So maybe it’s time to get a bit of yours back too.

That doesn’t mean going from zero to training 5 days a week, eating perfectly and suddenly becoming the most organised person alive.

Just start putting a few things back in place.

Get your training in the diary.
Plan a few meals.
Get moving a bit more.
Get one decent week under your belt.

Then do it again.

You don’t need a massive fresh start.

You just need to get back to doing some of the things that made you feel good before.

Back to school. Back to routine. And maybe, just maybe… a wee bit more time for you again 😊

Funny how things come full circle…

A few weeks ago I decided to pause Thrive over the summer holidays and, mainly to force myself out of my comfort zone, I decided I’d replace it with Thursday Thoughts.

One take. No scripts. Just me talking into a camera about whatever pish had been on my mind that week.

Something I absolutely did NOT enjoy doing at first 😂

But here we are a few weeks later and I’ve found that it’s actually no that scary at all and I’m definitely more confident talking to the camera. Furthermore, judging by some of the conversations and messages I’ve had from you lot, some of you (surprisingly) have enjoyed them too.

Which brings me nicely onto this…

Thrive is BACK next Thursday, 20th August! 10:15am.

Thursday Thoughts was only really supposed to exist while Thrive was having its summer break…

So the question is:

Do we keep Thursday Thoughts going as well?

Let me know. Because apparently I’m putting this decision in your hands now 😂

Yesterday I spent the day in Belfast with my mum and Harri.

At one point, my mum mentioned that the airport terminal we were standing in was the last place she spoke to my dad before he passed away.

It stopped me for a moment

My dad used to say, “We may never pass this way again.”

I never really appreciated what he meant until yesterday.

We spend so much of life looking ahead to the next thing that we forget to appreciate the moment we’re actually living.

Nothing in life is guaranteed.

But that’s also what makes days like yesterday so special.

The laughs, the conversations, the memories… that’s what all the hard work is for.

If this makes you think about someone you haven’t spoken to in a while, or reminds you to make time for the people who matter, then maybe that’s your sign to do it.

We may never pass this way again.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you next Thursday.
