🎉 11 YEARS AGO TODAY… Ash passed his Sea Kayak Leader assessment! 🛶

Fast forward 11 years and he’s still going strong, delivering courses and assessments including NCC Coasteer Guide award, Sheltered SUP award, Sea Kayak Leader, Coastal Sea Kayak award, Tidal SUP Leader and Coastal SUP Leader.

And when he’s not doing all that, he’s probably the best floor sweeper and bin emptier we’ve got at Reach Outdoors! 😉

No end to this man’s talents! 👏🌊( now all we have to do is show him where the kettle is 😉)

Join us for 2 days of SUP Sheltered Water Leader Training, designed to support you towards your assessment and help you develop the skills and confidence to lead groups on sheltered water.

🌊 NATIONAL COASTEER GUIDE AWARD – 10th & 11th OCTOBER 2026 🌊

Interested in becoming a coasteering guide? This 2-day National Coasteering Charter (NCC) National Coasteer Guide Award training course is a great place to start.

📍 Reach Outdoors, Tanners Road, South Devon
📅 10th & 11th October 2026
👤 Delivered by Ashley Hone, NCC Regional Trainer for South Devon

The course combines theory and practical training, covering:

🔹 Planning and preparation before a coasteering session
🔹 Leadership and group management
🔹 Practical coasteering skills
🔹 Environment-specific lifesaving skills
🔹 Managing the session during and after the activity

Following the course, you'll receive an individual development plan to help you work towards assessment. You'll then have the opportunity to consolidate your skills, gain logbook experience and develop your confidence in a range of sea conditions before arranging your assessment.

Good luck to all of our Gold DofE Kayak Expedition participants who are completing their expedition today! 🛶🎉

After days of paddling, camping, teamwork and overcoming challenges, you've shown determination and a fantastic attitude throughout. Completing this award is no small achievement, and you should all be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished.
