Another Fantastic Weekend for Holland Sports AC Runners!
Saturday:
A small but mighty team of nine masters runners took part in the County Cross Country Vets Championships and returned with an impressive five medals!
Chris Blackburn had a superb race, winning the VM50 title and finishing 4th overall. Teammates Steve Aish and Nick Morrison followed closely behind, helping to secure the men’s team silver in the V45–V55 age group.
The Ladies team narrowly missed out on gold needing three runners to score but fielding only two in the V35 category — yet still delivered brilliant performances, finishing 3rd and 4th. Lucy Berryman took home the bronze, with Kirsty Cutting close behind in 4th.
A big shoutout to the whole squad: Adrianne Gibbins, Paul Ramsier, Andy Cornish, and Neil Jones fantastic efforts all around! And a special thanks to Oloff Vanzyl for providing much-appreciated post-race massages for the team.
Sunday:
It was half marathon and marathon day for five of our runners and every single one came away with a new PB!
At the Thames Half Marathon, Philip Swinburn ran an incredible race, finishing 2nd overall in 73:05, taking a massive 5-minute PB, while Aziouz Lammali smashed his V60 PB with a time of 1:26.
Meanwhile, Nick Hickman and Nick Richards headed to Frankfurt for the marathon, both clocking huge personal bests improvements of 22 minutes and 10 minutes respectively.
And last but not least, James Staton tackled the challenging Beachy Head Marathon, finishing in a superb 4 hours 18 minutes.
What a weekend huge congratulations to everyone who raced and represented the club so brilliantly!

Holland Sports AC were in action across Europe this past week!
Chris B put in a brilliant performance at the European Masters Championships in Málaga, finishing an impressive 6th place in the 5000m.
Meanwhile, Steve A and Ethan took on the Amsterdam Marathon, and Nick & Aimy Hickman along with Paul & Angela Ramsier battled the heat in Palma during the Half Marathon.
Back in the UK, a strong club contingent raced the British 10 Mile Road Championships in Portsmouth, braving brutal wind and rain. Despite the conditions, there were some standout results:
• Jack Woods finished 13th
• Nick Bester placed 17th
• Andrew Green wasn’t far behind with a strong run
• Sophie and Aimy both smashed out big PBs on the challenging, windy course!
Great work to all our athletes representing the club across the continent!

Holland Sports Make Their Surrey League Division 1 Debut

This weekend marked a proud moment for Holland Sports AC as we hosted our very first Surrey League Division 1 cross country fixture right here at our home grounds in Hurst Green.

The event brought together some of the county’s top athletes, with races taking place across various age groups — from Under 13s all the way to senior runners.

It was a fantastic day of competitive racing, strong team spirit, and great community support especially from Holland Sports and all the volunteers. Rather than tell you everything, we’ll let the photos below speak for themselves!

🔥 A small but mighty Holland team put on a fantastic show at the U13/U15 YDL @ Walton on 29 June!

Despite strong competition from Guildford, Hillingdon, Kingston, St Mary’s & Walton AC, our athletes delivered top performances with top 4 finishes, PBs, National Standards, and Club Standards.

💥 U13 Girls – all 4 finished in the top 4!
⭐ Phoebe dominated the sprints – 3rd in 75m (National Grade 2 + PB), and another 3rd in the 150m (21.44 – National Grade 3 + PB).

💥 U15s
⭐ Rosie ran a 31.63 PB in the 200m and 17.23 in the 75m.
⭐ Katie jumped 3.53m in long jump – just short of club standard.
⭐ Imogen continued her amazing summer: 4th in the 75m (11.35 – PB + national ranking), and 3rd in the 800m with 2:49.21 (Club Standard).

👏 Brilliant performances judged not just by results, but by the effort and courage shown on the track. Well done Phoebe, Rosie, Katie & Imogen – you did Holland proud!

📅 Next stop: YDL (U13/U15) back at Walton – 20 July. Let’s bring a big team and even bigger energy! 🔴⚪

The Ebbisham League Match 1 saw our athletes taking their first steps to real Track and Field success bec track . With 100% of performances being personal bests, our ‘PBS’ ‘positivity’ and ‘power competitions’ suggests our athletes are on their first stepping stone to further success. Some great results from our very impressive mini squad in Match 1. Competing against Dorking/Reigate, Hercules and Wimbledon, Momentum Track Club and SLH we are looking to build on this for Match 2 4th May.

EBBISHAM EXCELLENCE + CONGRATULATIONS
TEAM HOLLAND:
U13 75m Hurdles – Campbell – 2nd - 18.4 (PB)
U13 Long Jump – Campbell – 4th – 3.49 (PB)
U13 High Jump Event Winner 1st Campbell–1.33
National Grade 4 (PB)
U15 High Jump Event Winner 1st Zach – 1.50
National Ranking (PB)
U15 100m – Rufus – 4th 14.1 (PB)
U15 200m – Rufus – 4th – 30.6 (PB)
U15 – 800m – Zach – 4th – 2.36.2 (PB)
U17 – 800m - Thomas - 2.36.2 (PB)
Delighted to get 8 performances to build upon.
Great ‘mini squad performance’ with High Jumpers in a league of their own. With Nationally ranked heights for U13/U15 athletes our High jumpers performed with composure, class and belief anything is possible. But with every event delivering a PB, Holland the potential to now challenge the top of Division 2 – but only with a full squad of competing. We know competition is never easy but know our mini squad only 5 points from beating Dorking + Reigate combined.
