Christy King Fitness Fully qualified personal trainer helping people live better, healthier lifestyles.

I am a wife and mother who quit the London rat race to turn a long-term hobby into a new career. Having been involved in sport and fitness from the age of 7, I'm fortunate that exercise is second nature to me but I know for many it isn't. I love to share my enthusiasm and passion with others and help clients get fitter and healthier.

Well that was hard but Great South Run done! ✅ 10 miles didn’t even feel achievable 4 weeks ago when we were all at home with Covid but I dragged myself round! 😜. Running wife smashed it with a great run of 1:24 and I snuck in with a 1:29 which feels like a miracle all things considered!

So, day 11 of 14 on the most recent challenge. I think most people are aware that I’m not great at social media and this time lapse footage of my workout is proof I’m just not into it! But hey, the workout was good and I’m trying!! 😆
The 800 challenge includes anything from 800 reps to 8000m! Today was 100 reps each of 8 exercises. I broke it down into 25 reps for 4 sets 👌 happy days! 🤩💪.
It’s the same for tomorrow too and then the weekend finale……I feel sick thinking about it and I’m sure could hear me groan when the schedule was released…..800 burpees!!! 😱🤢

Absolutely loved getting back on the court last night. 2 wins for the Watlington crew too 🙌🏻🤩💪

Today marks the end of 4 week challenge to complete 200km, finishing with today’s half marathon. As I’m currently on holiday in the West Country, my run today was a solo mission up and down a 2km stretch of beach promenade! 🙈😬. My original plan had been to just run the south west coast path but when I realised just how steep the hills were on a 5km jog around the coast path at Watergate Bay earlier in the week, I decided the coast path for a half marathon was not an option for me 🥴. So I knew my new route of the 2km promenade would be a battle more of mind over legs but I got it done! ✅ and I’m pretty proud of myself too 🤩. Now, what shall I do in June......🤔🤪

Just finished week 3 of 200KM challenge for May. 58km run this week and now just 46km to go next week! A few frustrations with running this week, (not least the once again slippy trails! 😬) but got it done in the end and even dragged the hubby out for 18km this morning 🙌🏻😆👊. I’m really enjoying this challenge as it takes most of the thinking (read: procrastination 🙄) out of my running!! Each week I get a schedule of runs and distances to cover and even suggested days to complete them. For someone who likes to be in control most of the time it’s awesome once in a while to just be told what to do and get on and do it!! It probably helps that it’s who’s doing the telling as let’s be honest, she’s a total legend 🙌🏻🤩. Bring on the last week! 💪 🏃‍♀️

Well, seemingly my covid jab on Wednesday took its toll on me more than I thought and may be I wasn’t quite ready for a run today! After I fell over for the 2nd time 🤦🏼‍♀️, I thought my body was probably telling me I should just walk! Hey ho, it gave more time to enjoy the sunshine, the views, the gorgeous bluebells and listen to an old podcast with Jay Shetty. I’ve listened to a few podcasts now of people talking with Jay and read his book too but I still find something else to think about each time or to remind myself. Today it was the quote Jay uses from Charles Cooley: ‘I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am’. 🤯. How true is this for most of us?! 🤔. But if you think about it, that’s pretty sad actually. I’m certainly guilty of this but awareness is always the first step to changing........🙌🏻🙏☺️.
