Throughout May, we’ve loved welcoming over 100 different athletes to our Open Water Familiarisation Sessions Queenford Lakes Open Water Swimming. Whether you were taking your first strokes in open water or fine-tuning your technique for race day, it’s been a privilege to support so many of you.

A massive shoutout to our brilliant coaches and volunteers who bring the energy, expertise, and encouragement that make these sessions so special.

🌅 Another Stunning Evening at Queenford Lake! 🏊‍♀️💙

Our second Open Water Familiarisation Session took place last night and it was nothing short of beautiful — calm waters, golden skies, and a fantastic group of swimmers building confidence and skills in the open water. 🌊✨

Whether it was your first dip or a return visit, it was amazing to see everyone embracing the challenge and supporting each other. Huge thanks to our awesome coaches and volunteers for making it all possible! 🙌

Yesterday we kicked off our first Open Water Familiarisation Session of the season at Queenford Lakes Open Water Swimming — and WOW, what a morning! 🌅💪

From first-timers to seasoned swimmers, it was incredible to see so many of you building confidence, learning new skills, and embracing the open water with smiles all around. 😄👏

For many years, our fully qualified coaches have helped 100s of athletes develop their confidence in open water, helping them see the swim leg in a triathlon as an experience to look forward to rather than dread. 💪😃

📍 Located at Queenford Lake, just south of Oxford, these sessions are designed for anyone who can confidently swim in a pool. Whether you’re new to open water swimming, felt overwhelmed in the past, or are looking to refine your skills with expert guidance – this is the place for you!🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️✨

🔥 Acclimatizing to the water
😮‍💨 Mastering breathing techniques
🌊 Becoming comfortable with having your face in the water

Our goal is to help you feel more confident in open water and equipped with the skills to conquer the triathlon swim leg or simply enjoy more open water swimming! 🚀🏅

👥 We run the sessions in small groups with multiple coaches** and experienced swimmers in the water with you, so you can progress at a pace right for you.

🎉 We want to make your experience fun and social, so why not join us after for a warming coffee ☕, bacon roll 🥓, or cake 🍰 at The Wandering Kitchen post-swim!
