This Sunday, 16 members of Trinity will be putting aside their blades and trading them in for their trainers. Don’t worry, rowing, as with most things in TCBC, is still very much at the centre of this event. These members will be taking on the mammoth task of a 13.1-mile run in an effort to raise money for the future generations of Trinity College rowers.
At Oxford, we are immensely privileged to have access to such a historically inaccessible sport. With the cost of living on the rise, we are trying to keep subs low and the door open to as many members of college as possible. The funds raised through this event will help the club to cover its running costs without increasing costs for members. Donations of any size are welcome and would contribute towards covering the following:
£5 would pay for a rigger jigger, these tools allow us to transport our boats meaning we are able to compete in regattas outside of Oxford
£20 would cover an additional coached training session, either for our senior or novice crews. More time on the water means more watts!
£30 would pay for an hour in the tank which is vital for training up the next generation of TCBC rowers
£60 would cover the cost of a pair of new shoes in our small boats, which desperately need upgrading
£100 would mean the club could invest in a steering footplate so we can rig our double as both a pair and as a double, giving new use to existing equipment.
£500 allows for a GPS stroke coach, giving stroke seat feedback throughout training and races allowing for more
£1000 would be able to cover a massive equipment upgrade, for example, the cost of a Cox Orb and an impeller system making training sessions more efficient.
Everyone should be able to partake in the sport, feel the magic of the termly regattas, and the friendships found on a Michaelmas morning, and we need your help to secure future financial stability for TCBC.
