Ladies and gentlemen. Here it is.
Some of you have been with us for years, some of us for weeks. Our current Last Man Standing since just Friday. But however long you've dodged, however much you've ducked, however hard you've dipped and dived its all come down to this. Men and women of dodgeball, my brothers! There will come a day where the courage of OUDbC fails. But it is not this day. Today your committee is proud to present:
2015 Hilary Term Dodgeball Cuppers. 3 Saturdays. 4th week to 7th week. 5-7pm. Iffley Road Gym. 3 weeks of glorious combat. We have never seen its like before. And we will never see it again.
From Balliol they will come. From Queens they will come. From the frozen wastes of St Catz and the uncharted wilderness of St Hughs they will come. From the swamps of Trinity and the golden castles of St Johns they will come. To join battle with their brothers and sisters and with strength and honour strive for the greatest prize this, or any other University, has to offer. The chance to forever sear their names into eternity as college dodgeball champions. When King Henry the III granted the University of Oxford its Charter in 1248 such glories are what he dreamt of. As John de Balliol was whipped in the street on the eve of the founding of Balliol college in 1263 the thoughts of such honour steeled his soul to the lash. Go forth and seize it for yourselves!
Form your teams of 6 warriors from your colleges (each college may enter as many teams as they like) and post on here or on the Oxford Dodgeball Cuppers Event page to which you will all soon be invited to. I expect to see each and every one of you upon the field of battle.
Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory lasts forever. Go out there and play some dodgeball.
