Whether you are a competitive swimmer, do triathlons or just enjoy "wild swimming", Queenford Lakes invite you all to make use of the open water swim sessions starting in the summer. Swim times:
Mondays 6pm-8pm or dusk
Wednesdays 6am/sunrise-8.45am
Thursdays 6pm-8pm (2/6 till sept. only)
Sundays 7am-9.45am

Cost:
Bookings via Actio app : £6.25 per session or
£52.50 for 10 swims
Guest swimmer : £7.50

You will need to have register for a chipped wristband at the cost of £15 for the whole season. You can do this online now and pick up your wristband when you come to the lake for your first swim : http://www.nowca.org


Facilities:
- 300, 500, 750, 1000 metre well marked course
- Free parking - ideal location for triathlete's who would like to go cycling after their swim and leave their cars in a fairly safe location. We are right on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, which are ideal for on and off road cycling.
- There is a short (1.3 miles) and long (2.3 mile) cross country run loop around the lake (permits available from the café)
- Changing facilities with female/male block and warm shower (closed under Covid guidelines)
- Toilet
- On site café The Wandering Kitchen

Note:

Our open water swim sessions are only for swimmer who are able to swim 500m unaided.

⏳ COME & TEST YOUR SWIM TACTICS and PACE after a summer of training - join us for SWIM OUT OF TIME next Thursday evening.

⏳ We will have a 300m LAP ready for you.
You will start altogether with 15 min on the clock and in that time you will complete lap 1, get out of the water ad get ready for the next swim.
⏳ Next you will have 14 min to complete lap 2, 13 min to complete lap 3 and so on, until the last swimmer runs out of time to finish!

It will be all about tactics, pacing and speed at the end. You decide how to play it! There will be a prize for the WINNER in the men and women category
- a 300 m course will be delimited by buoys
- the start will be a beach entry with deep water set off

It was a lot of fun last year. Come on, join in, it is a lot more fun when there are lots of swimmers at the start!

A simple request for a bit of mindfulness around parking.
Yesterday 3 vehicles were blocked in by other vehicles. Not because of a lack of space, but a lack of attention.
So when you park up, just have a good look and make sure you’re not preventing anyone else from leaving or blocking entrances or exits. Or using the space of 2 vehicles.

(You’ll notice we are nice and didn’t use actual photos of the vehicles from yesterday….some colours might be similar though…😉)
