Overseal ORC

Overseal ORC We are Overseal Running Club. A club built by us from the very beginning. We have faith in ourselves, and we have faith in each other. We don’t run to win.

We don’t run to win; we run to test the limits of our heart and soul. Running has long been regarded as one of the best ways to improve physical fitness, but did you know it can also be great for your mental health? The Overseal Running Club is a community of runners who understand and embrace the physical and mental benefits of running. Founded by a group of passionate runners, the Overseal Runni

ng Club is a close-knit community built on a foundation of mutual support, encouragement, and shared goals. From beginners to experienced runners, the club welcomes all those who share a love for running and a desire to improve their physical and mental health. The physical benefits of running are well documented. It is a great way to improve cardiovascular fitness, build endurance, and increase strength. Running also helps to burn calories, which can contribute to weight loss and a healthier body composition. But running is not just about physical health, it can also be incredibly beneficial for mental wellbeing. Studies have shown that running can help to reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-esteem. When we run, our body releases endorphins, which are chemicals that act as natural painkillers and mood enhancers. Running can also help to increase blood flow to the brain, which can improve cognitive function and mental clarity. The Overseal Running Club understands the importance of both physical and mental health and aims to create a supportive environment where runners can thrive. Members of the club are encouraged to push themselves and test the limits of their heart and soul, but not to the extent of sacrificing their wellbeing. The club prioritizes mental wellbeing as much as physical fitness and promotes a holistic approach to health and wellness. "We are Overseal Running Club. A club built by us from the beginning. We run to test the limit of our heart and soul." This statement encapsulates the ethos of the club perfectly. It is a community of runners who support and encourage each other to achieve their goals, not just in running but in life. "Run Hard When Its Hard To Run" is another statement that reflects the mindset of the Overseal Running Club. Running can be tough, especially when you are pushing yourself to achieve a new personal best or running a challenging race; it is in these moments of adversity that we can truly test ourselves and discover what we are capable of. In conclusion, the Overseal Running Club is a community of runners who understand and embrace the physical and mental benefits of running. It is a club built on mutual support, encouragement, and shared goals. Whether you are an experienced runner or just starting, the club welcomes all those who share a love for running and a desire to improve their physical and mental health. Great evening at the Robin Hood Pub last night for our Co-Leader training 👏

A huge thank you to Chris Jog Derbyshire and Lucy Jog Derbyshire from Jog Derbyshire for delivering such an engaging and practical session. Their knowledge, experience, and passion for supporting local running groups really shone through, and it’s another great reminder of the value of the relationship we have with Jog Derbyshire and the wider network of local clubs (Swad Joggers 🧡)

Working together like this helps us all grow stronger and safer as a running community.

It was fantastic to see so many of our own ORC members giving up their time to attend as well – thank you to everyone who came along and took part.

Investing in our co-leaders is key to keeping our sessions welcoming, supportive and well-run for everyone 💚

🏃‍♂️🌟 SOUTH DERBYSHIRE COMMUNITY RUN NIGHT 🌟🏃‍♀️

On Thursday 4th June, we are proud to be hosting a special community run in partnership with Jog Derbyshire as part of Volunteer Week, bringing together runners and running clubs from across South Derbyshire for an evening celebrating community, friendship and the amazing volunteers who help keep grassroots running alive. 💚

We’ll be joined by Chris Frost and the Jog Derbyshire team, alongside runners from a number of local clubs, and everyone is welcome to come along and be part of the evening.

The run will be approximately 5 miles, taking in the canal paths and parts of the popular Conkers Parkrun route before returning to the Robin Hood Inn for a social drink and catch up afterwards. 🍻

Whether you’re an experienced runner, a social jogger or simply want to support the local running community, it would be fantastic to see plenty of faces out on the night.

Running brings people together — and nights like this show exactly why community clubs matter. 💛
