Tom Freeman takes Man of the Match once again. As usual, he was a constant problem for the oppositions defence, finishing with 2 goals and 2 assists. Extremely unlucky not to add more, he delivered another standout performance.

⚽️ Match Report - Wem Athletic ⚽️

A late arrival for much of the squad meant a rushed warm-up, and it showed early on as a mistake saw us fall 1–0 behind while settling into the game.

The response was immediate. Once the lads found their rhythm, we took full control and dominated proceedings. Kalim drew us level before goals from Tom and Brad completed a strong first-half turnaround.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Cam and Tom adding further goals around the 70-minute mark to put the result beyond doubt. Despite the scoreline, Wem’s goalkeeper produced an outstanding performance, denying us several more goals that our overall play deserved.

⚽️ Match Report - Crown AFC ⚽️

A hard game to face today, bare 11, 2 of our players playing with fractured ribs and a few others carrying injuries too, did what we could considering circumstances and didn’t have an awful game all around, just got killed in the end by lack of selection.

went into half time 2-0 down, shortly into second half Thomps scored to make it 2-1 and unfortunately we weren’t able to pick up pace from that and the game ended 4-1

Looking forward to face Crown AFC at home, hopefully with less injuries and less angry old men!

Big thanks for the lads that did show today and put in a shift for the entire 90.

A dominant display at the back from Nath today 💪 – calm, composed, and absolutely solid throughout. Won everything in the air, read the game brilliantly, and led by example from the first whistle to the last. 🔴

🏆 County Cup Round 1 – Shawbury United 🏆

The only village team with something to cheer about this weekend! 🔴

Playing against the wind in the first half made things tough, and we went into the break level at 1-1 after a battling opening 45.

But we used the wind to our advantage in the second half, stepping it up a gear and taking control of the game.

Up stepped Iwan Hardy, who stole the show with an amazing hat-trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️ to seal a well-deserved 3-1 win and send us through to the next round.

A proper team performance – solid at the back, relentless in midfield, and ruthless up front.

We go again Sunday, looking to keep the momentum rolling and bring home another big result 🔴💪
