We are troupe with an outstanding reputation for Pom Dance and Military Freestyle. Members are currently aged 3 to 30 years plus.

BASED IN WAKEFIELD WEST YORKSHIRE❤️🤍💙 A cheerleading troupe with an outstanding reputation for pom dance, batons and combination displays. The troupe has over 80 great girls in it, who work together and show overwhelming commitment dedication and loyalty. There will not be many troupes on earth who have so many devoted members.... it is like one big HAPPY family and they all love being a part of it .

ANOTHER FABULOUS DAY made more special by the love and support shared between friends from the various teams - it makes comp days so much more enjoyable 🫶🏾

So grateful to all of our dancers and their families …. Their dedication and loyalty to our troupe and to each other is just insane and hard to describe ❤️🤍💙

Once again EVERY SINGLE LEADER MASCOT & TROUPE PLACING - it’s such a good feeling but as we know you cannot take anything for granted and we just have to keep working hard, staying united and strong 💪🏾 and improving the best we can 👌🏾
You have all shown such determination dedication and put in sooooo much hard work 😓 which I appreciate all teams do, as there were lots of fabulous performances throughout the day 😍

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to our smallest Cheerios in the team little Arabella who was chosen by the Judges as the BABY SECTION DANCER OF THE DAY 🤩🥰🏆

Just a cheeky shout out to our JUNIOR POM from me as I thought that was your best dance of the season 🤩 congratulations ladies xx

Next stop for us is the Premier Dance Association EOS CHAMPIONSHIPS in Blackpool before we have our FINAL YCA MIL DAY COMP OF 2026!!

Yorkshire Carnival Association 2027 🏆

These are our competition dates for next season 🤩
The YCA has been well established since 1983, we are a dedicated team with 43 years of experience in holding competitions especially our end of season championships at The SPA in Bridlington.

We have Poms, Dance Twirl, Military Freestyle, Solos and Duos, we also have lots of fun 🤩

Any new teams or individuals as independent dancers who are interested in joining the YCA please let us know, you can contact Kathryn Hurst or Keeley Rutherford.

Today is a very sad day for the Weggy’s both cheerleaders and the Rugby team - as we say our final goodbye to our amazing Grandma Sue who lost her battle on 31 July 2026 😢💔

Sue was a big part of Westgate Cheerleaders back in the day when she became a Weggy mum in 2002 🫶🏾
Her, her mum Granny Ann and her dad Colin were very much a part of those who helped and supported the troupe in every single way

It was amazing when Sue came back with her granddaughter many years later and once again slipped into being a big part of our troupe 🥰 I am so glad that a new generation of Weggy parents and dancers got to meet and love her ❤️

From the day she got her initial diagnosis she was always quite upbeat and kept a positive outlook on anything they told her - even when the news wasn’t the best 🥹
At our last Pom comp in May she was there sat with us where she belonged ❤️🤍💙 she popped into training to see us all many times and we always stayed in touch ☺️

Thankfully Jolene and I got to visit her for a few hours a couple of days before she passed🥹 we held hands we had hugs and I told her several times just how much we all loved her …. Not that she wouldn’t have already known that 🥲

Today our thought and prayers are with her Mum her children and grandchildren whose hearts are beyond shattered as the biggest light in their life has gone 💔

Please take a moment today to remember our amazing Sue Jackson she’s now at peace and safe in the arms of the Angels 🪽
Sleep peacefully my beautiful friend I will love & miss you always and forget you never 🥹❤️🤍💙

Results of our SECOND YCA MILITARY FREESTYLE COMP of 2026 🤩

Another rocky road getting us here….. broken bones seem to be plaguing us this year 🤦🏾‍♀️ so we didn’t know what to expect but we actually had some amazing results and as always… we are of you all ❤️🤍💙

ALL 5 of our POM teams & ALL 5 of our MIL teams are dancing in DIVISION 1 for the 2026 season 👌🏾 THATS JUST AMAZING 🤩 🙌🏾🫶🏾🩵🩷

BABIES - our very small but mighty babies …. Worried doesn’t come close - after losing a baby dancer a few weeks before the comp and having to get one of our youngest dancers Posie who had never touched a baton let alone danced freestyle, to learn to do the twirls and master the whole routine 🫣 we really didn’t if they could pull this off - but WOW JUST WOW 🤩 and to come away as BABY CHAMPIONS LEADER MASCOT & TROUPE 🏆 was just unbelievable - massive week done to our fabulous little ladies 🫶🏾

NOVICE/YCA DINKYS - fantastic world girlies with a couple of broken bones to deal with teaching girls the dance from scratch it’s been an eventful few weeks but again you dug deep and came away DINKY CHAMPIONS LEADER MASCOT & TROUPE🏆- keep shining my beautiful Novice 🫶🏾

TINYS - if people knew the mountain you girls face constantly 🥹
Once again you absolutely blew us away with the resilience and determination you all showed over the last few weeks - changing the dance again - having Isla becoming Mascot now Daisy stepped up to Leader 🥰🥰 Isla is only 8, still dinky age and competing against dancers who some are 13 you did a magnificent job placing 🥈
We are so proud of all of you as 4 out of the 7 girls are STILL DINKY AGE!! so be proud girls you are doing amazing 🤩 Bringing home TINY RUNNER UP LEADER & MASCOT you gals will keep getting stronger 💪🏾 …. Watch this space ☺️

JUNIORS - some days the nerves get to you and it seemed like this was the case - you got some great scores and again a section with only two places we have to polish this dance so it shines like we know it can 🫶🏾
Our little Lucy came home JUNIOR CHAMPION MASCOT 🥇 after a personally very touch week … I know you will have made your Grandad very proud 🥹

And SENIORS …. ANOTHER STRONG PERFORMANCE LADIES you danced your hearts out in such ridiculous heat at the end of a very long day ….🥵
So many fabulous comments from around the room - it’s great to know others see your presence the way I do ✨ having to change the whole dance to lose a place is never easy in freestyle 😰 but we did it and you had a brilliant day 🥉 LEADER 🥇CHAMPION MASCOT 🏆& 🥈 RUNNER UP TROUPE excellent effort ladies 👌🏾

So our amazing Cheerios recently did a Bag pack event at Morrisons Dewsbury Rd 🫶🏾

We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the wonderful customers, the amazing compliments we got from both customers and the store staff - it really makes us proud 😊

Even our little d***s came and held collection buckets 🥰 it was SUCH A WARM DAY EVEN IN STORE 🥵

We raised an AMAZING £461.50 a FABULOUS boost to our uniform hall hire and equipment fund 🫶🏾

Our basic trainings days are Mondays for Pom and Tuesdays for Military Freestyle
No experience necessary and old dancers are more than welcome

It was a long warm and very emotional day again but the love and support shared between friends from the various teams was just fantastic 🫶🏾

We had some big challenges again - our poor Tinys were thrown into the deep end again … but managed to dig deep, pull things together and dance 💃🏾 we are so very proud of you all and praying that you have a smoother journey going forward 🫶🏾
