What a fantastic way to finish another memorable season!

This team has become so much more than a rugby squad – they’re a family. The friendships, support, laughter and determination shown throughout the year have made us incredibly proud. We genuinely couldn’t ask for a better group of kids.

A huge thank you to all our parents, carers and volunteers for everything you do behind the scenes. Your encouragement and commitment helps make this team what it is.

A week off this week but gives me a chance to finally getting around to posting some photos from the End of Season celebration for the Rookies and Under 8s. A great day to celebrate all the hard work over the season with teammates and friends. The, now traditional, water fight proved popular in the hot temperatures including the chance to soak the coaches. Thanks to all those who attended. There'll be a few more sessions before we finish up before the school holidays.

Do you enjoy working with children, being part of a team, and helping young players grow in confidence, skills, and friendships? Whether you’ve played rugby for years or are completely new to coaching, we’d love to hear from you.

At Ossett RUFC, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming, and supportive club with a fantastic community spirit. Our Minis & Juniors section continues to grow, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help support our teams.

What we provide:

The Rookies had a fantastic morning today!

They showed absolute true grit and resilience throughout their session. It was pouring down with rain but they laughed, smiled and enjoyed every bit of it without a single grumble.

Their coaches are incredibly proud of them all.

Well done Reggie for being trainer of the week for the Rookies; showing fantastic team spirit and great skills.

Ossett RUFC is on the lookout for new players to join our squad for the upcoming season—and there’s a place here for everyone.

Whether you’ve played for years, are getting back into rugby, or fancy giving it a go for the first time, you’ll be welcomed straight into a great group on and off the pitch.

We are recruiting new players for next season.

Pre season training starts in July with games starting back in September.

The U12 team will be those starting year 7 in September.

No charges until a few games have been played, then only £6 per month.

🏉 Season finale– U11’s 🏉

What a day to finish the season, with two brilliant games against Pontefract and Yarnbury. One last time together as an U11’s team… and what a journey it’s been.

This group of boys and girls have been more than just a team. They’ve been teammates, friends, and a family on and off the pitch. From the first whistle back in September to today’s final matches, they’ve shown courage, resilience, teamwork and heart — always pulling on that camo with pride.

Today was emotional for so many reasons. The laughter, the muddy kits, the early mornings, the big wins, the tough losses — all the moments that have brought this team closer together. Seeing them take the field together for the last time as an U11’s team is something none of us will forget.

Now our boys and girls go their own ways next season, but the memories they’ve made, the friendships they’ve built, and the lessons they’ve learned will stay with them wherever rugby takes them. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them — not just for how they play, but for the teammates and young people they’ve become.

To the parents and supporters — thank you for the touchline cheers, and for standing in all weathers week after week.

Once an Ossett Junior, always part of the team.
