Over the past seven days, the team has been out four times attending incidents in Lochaber. On Saturday evening at 1700, we were tasked by Police Scotland to two fallen climbers in the vicinity of Moonlight Gully, Ben Nevis.

The team treated and rescued one climber with serious injuries who had managed to move further down the hill. Due to some very challenging weather conditions, combined with hazardous ground, the team returned Sunday morning to recover the other casualty who was sadly deceased.

We send our deepest condolences to the family, and would like to offer thanks to the crew of Coastguard Rescue Helicopter R151 and members of Police Scotland MRT North Division.

TWC82 Pike of Blisco
Ascent from dungeon ghyll via wrynose fell and descent via oxendale and stool head farm.
A 5.15 Mike circuit with full winter conditions a getting to around -15 with wind chill.
Members of the party also generated a lot of wind, but all in all a great crack with some top men and plenty of local ale and the old dungeon ghyll at the end.

TWC 81 Helvellyn.

Today’s walk saw the Trail walking club, taking on the mighty Helvellyn from the banks Thirlmere reservoir.
At 950 metres Helvellyn is the third highest peak in England.
Starting the walk from swirls car park, we made steady progress heading uphill to the summit, from there and after a quick lunch break we descended back towards Birk side, and picked up a great track taking us through the forest back to the car park.
Walk was guided by Mark (team lead) and was joined by chairman and founder of the Trail walking club Jon, great day was had by all.

***Funeral of Joss Naylor - Further Information***

Attendance at the funeral is welcome to all, although due to the limited capacity, seating inside St Olaf's is restricted to invitation only. A sound system will be in place to relay the service into the churchyard and adjacent field, and service sheets will be distributed to attendees outside.

Parking spaces will be available in a field next to the church (this will be sign posted). Please can we respectfully ask that those attending car share, if possible, and that cars are parked responsibly to ensure access to church is maintained for the funeral cortege, and that the roads are not restricted for residents and the emergency services. Please note, there is no public transport to Wasdale Head on Fridays.
