🐬 Strule Dolphins Competition Round-Up 🐬

It has been another busy few weeks for Strule Dolphins swimmers, with representatives competing across three different competitions and continuing to gain valuable experience, achieve personal bests and bring home medals! πŸ₯‡

🏊 Ian Wright Memorial Gala – Bangor

With many of our swimmers focused on exam commitments, Strule Dolphins were represented by Emma and Tom at the Ian Wright Memorial Gala in Bangor.

Emma competed strongly in the 200m Individual Medley, 50m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle, continuing to build on her racing experience and delivering some excellent swims.

Tom competed over both days of the gala, taking on the 200m Individual Medley, 200m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 50m Backstroke, 100m Freestyle and 800m Freestyle. A special mention goes to Tom for completing his first ever 800m Freestyle, a huge achievement and one that was rewarded with a fantastic bronze medal.

Both swimmers recorded a number of personal best times and have set themselves new targets to work towards.

🏊 Banbridge Open Long Course Meet – South Lakes

Five Dolphins swimmers travelled to South Lakes Leisure Centre for the Banbridge Open Long Course Meet.

The team produced plenty of personal best performances throughout the day while gaining valuable experience racing in a long course environment. Most importantly, all swimmers represented the club brilliantly, showing great attitude and commitment throughout the competition. The meet provided another excellent opportunity to benchmark progress and set goals for next season.

🏊 Swim Ulster DSNI Swimming Championships

A huge congratulations goes to Farrah, who proudly represented Strule Dolphins at the Swim Ulster DSNI Swimming Championships.

With strong support from her family in the stands and guidance from Coach Barry poolside, Farrah delivered an outstanding performance, achieving several new personal best times and earning an impressive medal haul of 2 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals. πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯ˆ

We are incredibly proud of Farrah’s achievements and the determination she continues to show every time she steps onto poolside.

As we approach the end of the season, it is fantastic to see our swimmers continuing to challenge themselves, achieve personal bests and represent Strule Dolphins with pride. Congratulations to everyone who competed over the past few weeks – your hard work and dedication are paying off.

What a fantastic day at the Enniskillen Lakelanders Spring Gala 26! πŸ™Œ

This gala gave our swimmers a brilliant opportunity to step up and showcase all the skills they’ve been working so hard on in training πŸ’ͺ

We saw lots of Personal Bests (PBs) across the board, which is always a great sign of progress πŸ“ˆπŸ‘ Alongside that, we had multiple medal-winning performances πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰ – a fantastic reward for all the effort being put in week after week.

Our medal winners are:

Aibhilin - πŸ₯‡
Donnacha - πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰
Matthew - πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰

πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ March Round-Up for Strule Dolphins πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

March was a busy month for our swimmers, with two fantastic galas β€” and while we didn’t get individual posts up at the time, we couldn’t let them pass without a proper shout-out! πŸ‘πŸ’™

🌊 Future Challengers Meet 4
Our younger swimmers took to the pool and did brilliantly. There were lots of great swims, big smiles, and plenty of learning experiences throughout the gala 😊 It was fantastic to see swimmers racing hard, improving skills, and most importantly having fun.

We also saw a number of Personal Bests πŸ“ˆ, along with pins earned β€” a great reward for all their hard work in training.

πŸ”₯ Aspiring Champions Meet 2
Our older swimmers competed across two full days of racing and delivered some excellent performances. The team swam fast, raced well, and supported each other brilliantly across the weekend πŸ’ͺ

There were lots of PBs πŸ“ˆ, medals πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰, and pins πŸ“, along with some fantastic milestones achieved β€” including Regional Championship qualifying times, National consideration times, and National qualifying times 🎯 An incredible achievement and a reflection of the work being put in week after week.

It was also fantastic to see one of our relay teams take to the blocks for the first time πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈ The team embraced the opportunity and raced with confidence and determination, even lining up against a relay team that featured an Olympic swimmer - Danielle Hill! ⭐ While it was a tough race, our swimmers gave it their absolute best πŸ’ͺ and supported each other brilliantly from start to finish. Experiences like this are invaluable β€” racing at that level, soaking up the atmosphere, and stepping up as a team 🀝 It was great to see them rise to the occasion and represent the club so well πŸ‘πŸ’™

**CLUB ENTRANCE TRIALS - 10TH MARCH**

Entrance trials will take place on Tuesday 10th March from 6–7pm in Omagh Leisure Centre.

We currently have a number of spaces available for swimmers born in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

There are a small number of places for secondary‑school‑aged swimmers, but these are limited to those transferring from another club or former members of Strule Dolphins.

During the trials, coaches will assess ability across all four strokes as well as key water‑competency skills, including basic diving and treading water.

Children should attend the trials wearing appropriate swimwear and goggles.

Strule Dolphin swimmer Tom, Year 8, represented his school at the Swim Ulster Senior Schools Championships last Friday at Bangor's Aurora Leisure Complex. This was a Long Course competition in the 50m pool.
Tom finished a fantastic 3rd out of all year 8 pupils in the 100m freestyle with an Ulster consideration time and a fantastic PB; he then went and took 9 seconds off his 100m butterfly PB, finishing 6th in his year group. Superb swimming! πŸ‘πŸ¬
