Newtownstewart Golf Club is nestled on the foot of Bessy Bell Mountain in the rolling parkland of Baronscourt, the ancestral estate of the Duke of Abercorn. Golfers will frequently encounter deer, wild pheasant, red squirrels and buzzards during their round. Redesigned by Frank Pennink in the early 1970’s who was quoted as saying that “it was one of the best locations for a parkland course that he

had ever seen”, the course has undergone major redevelopment work over the last two years and now offers a real challenge to both the novice and low handicapper. Fantastic scenery; stunning wildlife; a great course; golf shop and excellent hospitality and food provide the ideal backdrop for the perfect round of golf.

A big thank-you to Captain Trevor who is delighted to host his Ladies Prize competition today. Some tee times are available. Come and enjoy Captain Trevor’s competition. Food will be available in the clubhouse from 3pm to 7pm.

Pre-season (from October through to March) the Men’s section held a weekly Wednesday competition aka the WOBL - Wednesday’s Old Boys League- organised by our Vice President Kenny Henderson (King WOBL). Congratulations to Co Wilson for winning the league, with Roy Kee in 2nd place, Tommy Graham in 3rd place and Paddy McCrossan in 4th.
