Good luck to Year 8 pupil Jessica who will compete in the Pony Club Winter Triathlon Championships in Grantham this weekend after she qualified in the Mimimus class. The competition consists of swimming the maximum distance in 2 minutes, running 1000m & pistol shooting to a 7m target. She will be representing the Area 17 (Northern Ireland) Pony Clubs Competition against finalists from all the UK Pony Club regions.

Our chosen charity for yesterday's show was Air Ambulance NI.
With your support, we have raised a fantastic £1000.

A huge well done and thanks goes to the McBride sisters from Drumragh Showjumpers who together collected over £500 in sponsorship!
An outstanding amount! They were presented with their prize at their school today- a crafty pony from TRI Equestrian NI

Omagh Academy Showjumpers Inter Schools show today at Necarne was another great occasion in our school calendar, and once again we were spoiled with our fab venue at Castle Irvine Necarne.

All our teams and individuals competed so well today in Academy colours and should be very proud!👏👌

Special mention to the Inter team of Callie Cooke, Catherine Beattie, Jessica McCarroll and Maisie Armstrong who finished in an excellent 2nd place🥈 following a total team score of zero, just over 2 seconds behind the winning team.

The Open Team of Zoe Keys, Zara Smyth, Jessica Jennings, and Ted Gibson were 11th to compete out of a huge 17 teams, and the first to complete their round with a team score of zero. It was nerve‑wracking watching the final six teams, but we were thrilled to finish as the only team on zero faults—securing the win for the second year in a row, and most importantly, earning the golden ticket to Balmoral once again!🏆🪙🎫

Well done also to our many other individual and team competitors- Grace Bond, Olivia Alexander, Amelia Lyons, Maddie Smith, India Conlin, Elsie Maxwell, Elizabeth Managh, Alyssa Smith and Stewart Beattie who all did themselves and the school proud!👏🔵🟡

Thanks to all our pupil and parent volunteers who helped make the show run so smoothly!

OMAGH ACADEMY SCHOOLS SHOW - TUESDAY 10TH MARCH 2026
Castle Irvine, Necarne, Irvinestown

Due to large entry numbers, we have moved the start time in the Walled Garden to 8.30am SHARP (course walk 8am).
Please find attached the start lists for Tuesday's show. ANY ISSUES, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP.

Reminder -
Rose garden - 9am start (course walk on foot 8.30am).
Walled garden - 8.30am start, the first rider of the first team must be in the arena at 8.30am sharp (course walk on foot- 8am).

Teams will jump first, followed by the individuals in each class.
(If entered as a team, they are also competing as an individual).

RUNNING ORDER IS FINAL - TEAMS MUST BE IN THE POCKET, WARMED UP AND READY TO ENTER THE ARENA- WE CANNOT HAVE ANY HOLD UPS ON THE DAY.

Timings for walled garden:
Novice (65-70cm)- 8.30am SHARP
Inter - (75-85cm) - 10.45am approx
Open - (95cm - 1m Balmoral Qualifier) - 1.45pm approx
These are approximate timings, meaning they may change on the day. We will aim to post updates on our page throughout the day.
Course walk ON FOOT before each class.

Riders competing in the Open class (Balmoral Qualifier) - please ensure you bring your horse/ pony's passport.

NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY

There will be catering on site from 'A Taste of the Countryside', and 'Cassie's Bakes'. AA Taste Of The Countryside

Car parking - please follow instructions from the parking attendants. (No vehicles allowed inside the walls of the walled garden).

No walled garden riders allowed in the rose garden practice arena, and vice versa.

All entry fees should be paid before competition.

Toilets are available downstairs in the indoor arena building.

Remember - our chosen charity is Air Ambulance, so please bring money and sponsor forms to judges box in walled garden labelled with name and total raised. There will be a prize for whoever collects the most sponsorship!

Thanks to all who have sent entries in - we have a large number of entries, so bear with us to get all collated! Start lists and approx times will be posted by Sunday evening. We will be starting at 8.30am SHARP in walled garden with course walk on foot 8am.
