Not every session is meant to feel like your strongest — and it doesn’t have to.
Last week I tested all 3 lifts 8 weeks out from competition. Squat & Bench PB ✅ Deadlift ❌ This week it’s back to % work and volume.
Volume is moving well, but the higher percentages? They’re a grind right now.
Same plan, same goal — just a different response. Mid-cycle, energy is lower and strength isn’t peaking the same, and that plays a bigger role than people think.
Progress isn’t linear. Some days you push weight, some days you build through the work.
Showing up and getting it done, even when it feels harder than it “should,” is part of it.
