Pictured are the 1st XI after their 191 run victory to remain unbeaten this season. More significant than the result though was the composition of the team. 10 of the 11 players have come through our youth system. At a time when lots of clubs are tempted to reach for the chequebook to aid player recruitment, this is something we’re very proud of!

Todays win wasn’t just about the players on the field, it’s about the coaches and volunteers who have given up their time to help run age group sides and those who continue to do so to bring through the next generation. It’s also a win nearly 50 years in the making as we remember the efforts of Arnold Mann, who we lost last year, in setting up the clubs first youth team.

Everyone who has pulled on the shirt for the club will have someone who introduced them to the game and we will be celebrating and remembering some of those legends at our Former Players Lunch during the 1sts next home fixture on July 4th.

The Anniversary cup continues tonight with an important Pool B clash. The Over 30s need a win to keep their Finals hopes alive. If Ravenstone win they will set up a decider with Clifton Reynes in a couple of weeks.

Saturday 1sts host Hardingstone at home hoping to maintain their unbeaten record 💯

Saturday 2nds travel to old friends New Bradwell hoping to maintain their promotion challenge 🤝

The Women’s 1sts are the centrepiece of the weekend as they host Oxenford as part of Ladies Day 👸

Sunday 1sts are at ‘home’ as they host MK Warriors in Sharnbrook in an important clash in the promotion race ⬆️

Sunday 2nds are starting to put together some good results and performances with a stable team and will hope that continues with an away trip to Biggleswade 🚘

Big news from the ECB this afternoon with Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson axed from the squad for the 2nd Test. Many of you will be aware that this incident was allegedly a big nasty rugby player viciously attacking some poor innocent cricketers who were out for a jolly good time.

Ahead of Fridays Anniversary cup fixture between OTCC u30’s and Olney RFC we have sought assurances from the Rugby Club that the weekends violence is not part of a wider campaign. Their committee have confirmed that this was an isolated incident and that their players will only be striking cricketers if they’re ’really asking for it’.

On the above basis, the fixture will go ahead with increased security and a promise that any behaviour will be met with a strongly worded letter.

Bar open as usual with food available in what is a must win fixture for the Rugby Vets who need a win to keep their final chances alive 🏆

Ben Stokes will miss England’s second Test against New Zealand at The Oval following an incident in a London nightclub, with Joe Root stepping up as interim captain.

With outfield conditions currently wetter than an otters pocket, we’re not sure how much cricket we’ll get this weekend. But if we do, this is how our six sides lineup as we welcome back the Women’s XI for their first outing of the season.
