Scottish Amatuer Cup 1st Round Result

Cowie Thistle 4-1 Meldrum United

M.Cheyne, Low, Pugh, Kennedy, Harvey, Piekarski (Fern), Steele (Ferguson), Lovett, Reid, Gordon, Hay (Glennie)

From last weekends rout of Stoneywood Parkvale we lose K.Wilson, Allsop, Wilko, Cu***ng & Top Scorer Faskin on top of the already depleted squad.

Cowie would take the lead 20 minutes into the game from a strike from the edge of the box that found the top corner. Our response was good as a few minutes later a good move seen Lovett wiped out in the box for a penalty. AJ converted 1-1. Big moment in the game 5 minutes later as Lovett was sent away, defender wrong side hauled him down, massive claims for a red card, ref unsighted unfortunately didn't give it. Cowie would then take the lead 5 minutes later, M.Cheyne made a great save onto the post but the rebound was smashed home. 2-1. Harvey had a header go just wide before the break. HT 2-1

The second half after starting the first 5 slow we grew into the game and had our biggest chance to equalise on 58 as Reid put a pinpoint cross across Goal, Ferguson unmarked somehow didn't make contact from a yard out. Cowie would then score a few minutes later once again from a strike from the edge of the box. Lovett hit the bar with a looping header. They killed it as a slack pass was punished with 20 to go. FT 4-1

Last Man Standing 2026 💰

Week 2 update.

We entered the week with 117 remaining. We lost another 46 this week mainly due to Liverpools failure to beat Nottingham Forrest at Anfield. Meaning we have now lost well over half of the 156 that started the competition as we go into week 3.

AAFA Division 2 Result

M.Cheyne, K.Wilson, Pugh, Allsop (Wilkinson), Lovett, Kennedy, Piekarski, Cu***ng (Ferguson), Reid (Steele), Gordon, Faskin (Fern)

Gee, Low & C.Cheyne unavailable from last weekends win in Newtonhil. That sees Piekarski, Reid & Cu***ng all come in into the XI.

We started well enough but found ourselves behind as a ball across was turned into our own net. We responded right away as M.Cheyne sent Lovett away and he cut it back to Gordon who fired home from the edge of the box. 1 minite later a fantastic flowing team move as we played out well Gordon sent Faskin away who played it across Goal for cu***ng to finish from 8 yards out.5 minutes later Lovett found Kennedy out on the right his cross come shot looped over the goalie (defo a shot) for 3-1. 10 minutes later another great move and once again we found Lovett down the right who flashed the ball across Goal, it was turned in by the defender for number 4. HT 4-1

15 minutes into the second half it was game over as Faskin played Reid, he cut in sat the defender down and finished to make it number 5. M.Cheyne made a terrific stop for a ball destined for the top corner. FT 5-1
