I've realised that enjoying a holiday doesn't mean I need a holiday from all the things that make me feel good.
In fact, when my environment changes and I'm spending much more time around other people, those little routines often become even more important.
Not rigid routines. Not rules.
Just anchors.
Morning time alone. Movement. Nourishing food. Sleep. Saying no sometimes. And giving myself permission to step away from the group when I need to.
There's still ice cream, bread, drinks, late nights and days where everything goes completely out of the window.
That's part of the holiday too.
For me, balance isn't doing everything "right."
It's knowing what keeps me feeling like myself, and finding ways to come back to it wherever I am.
I want to come home from a holiday feeling restored, not like I need another week to recover.
What does a holiday look like for you? Do you switch off completely or keep some of your routines?
