Rainy City Roller Derby is an established roller derby league with two teams based in Manchester

Founded in Greater Manchester, UK in 2008, we’re the North West’s first and finest women's roller derby league, entirely run and owned by the skaters, for the skaters. We have two active teams and cater for all skill levels from recreational beginner’s games to international competitions around the world.

At Rainy City Roller Derby we know how much our trans players are hurting given the release of the EHRC statutory guidance and we know that this is bringing a huge amount of anxiety and uncertainty as we wait to see how this is dealt with by the government.

At Rainy City we support our trans players, members, and supporters. You are a vital part of our league and roller derby community and we want you to know what we stand by you in such difficult times.

We know that the new statutory guidance is about exclusion, bigotry and prejudice, designed to prevent trans people from functioning in society by deny them use of basic facilities. We will fight to oppose this wherever we can. Stay with us, we are there for you. 💜

We have spaces open for both our Rookie game and to play against our Reckoning skaters, be sure to grab your tickets while they’re hot and grab a friend to come along with you!

We’re hosting our games on IDAHOBIT day in support of Proud Trust and we’ll be fundraising on the day for these great causes!

We’ll also be having four on track coaches for our rookie game who we’ll be introducing in the coming days but a little birdy has let slip that they’re all World Cup skaters - keep your eyes on our stories to find out who they are 👀
