I've tried every diet out there

Low carb, keto, not eating after 6pm. Anything that you have heard of, I have probably tried.

All except Slimming World, doing that as a guy would have made me feel even worse than what I already did.

I was nearly 20 stone and I would go running at 4am so that no one would see me.... I felt like a complete and utter failure. Until 1 day it clicked.

I had stopped playing football and I had moved to Swindon for a new job.

I woke up and thought, today is the day. It wasn't a special day, but of course it WAS a Monday.

I bought the Insanity plan and trained at home because I was still too embarrassed to go to a gym..

I lost 3.5 stone and became obsessed with achieving my ideal weight on the BMI chart (12 stone 10)
I was literally eating 1400 calories a day, because I knew no different.

It was literally the number My Fitness Pal Gave me.

This was before Online Coaching or anything like that.

I joined a gym (Nuffield) and I would go every single day before work, I grew in confidence and I started to play football again at the weekend.

I decided to a half marathon, something a near 20 stone version of would never have dreamt of.

6 months of training led to me completing it in just under 2 hours.. I felt amazing

I grew as a person and knew I wanted to change my career at this point.
People at work were asking for help on their own journey but honestly I didn't really know any more than you at this point.

We moved to Huddersfield and I decided to follow my passion and work on a gym.

I completed my qualification and started working with people in person. This is when the real journey began.

It's all well and good going on your own journey but we are all different so learning how to help others was something that I had to learn.

10 years later, I have worked with some incredible clients.

In 2021 a new challenge came. Lily.

Managing life, business and health with a child is something I never thought I would have to do.

Honestly, my Dad killed himself when I was 11, so I was scared of being a terrible Dad.

But here I am, determined to do better and to set an example for my Daughter, my Family and my future ❤

Certainly one of the easier fat loss phases that I have been in charge of.

a male model based in Spain needed and wanted to drop some body fat prior to a shoot that he had booked.

12 weeks later of controlled dieting, the end results were clear abs and massive increases in strength across the board.

Adam was already going to the gym and was already in great condition but he knew he needed some help with accountability.

This is where I came in.

Weekly check Ins allowed us to regularly touch base to overcome any potential issues and our daily whats app messages would have been a site to behold.

No topic is off limit in our private chats.

I wanted to share Adams progress as it shows that sometimes, even the people you think don't need some help, actually do.

16 weeks is all it took for Mohammed to absolutely change his body, mind and daily structure.

As a Dad he had fallen to the bottom of the priority list.

All ranked as more important than himself

He wasn't showing up as his best version for any of the things he needed to do, so he made a change.

He started with himself!

This has been achieved with Eid, with an all inclusive family holiday and with the fact that he still has to work, be a Dad and a Husband.

As guys, we pretend that we are ok with just 'cracking on'

But we're not.

We need some self focus as well.

It's not easy being in shape like this as a Dad!

There are times when I think

'I don't want to do this anymore'

'I can't be bothered to go to the gym today's

And sometimes I feel sorry for myself.

But then I remember why I started.

In 2013 I was you.

Feels like 💩 not having the confidence to go to the gym or take your top off in this weather doesn't it?

Exercising in your front room because your chest is bigger than your Mrs!

I have been there.

I'm not saying it will happen over night, but what I am saying is working on yourself gives a 100% chance of making your self better.

Next time you question if you should start or if you have the time, energy or motivation to make a change remember this quote...

You've got to be in it together win it and like the old lottery advert with the massive finger 'it could be you' that wins this time.

4 years ago to the day since I left my General Manager position at Puregym.

What an absolute roller coaster it has been since.

Moving to The Gym Group and then deciding management just isn't for me.

I was at Puregym for 7 years and The Gym Group for 3.

It took me 10 years to understand that selling gym memberships and protein bars from a vending machine wasn't helping our members at all.

Fast forward another year, and here I am today, helping parents, just like me, look and feel better every single day.

As a Dad, a business owner and as a husband I only train 3 times per week for the majority of the year. (There are some exceptions)

Most people over commit when they decide to go to the gym, trying to get there 4 or even 5 times a week.

But for you, a parent, with work and family commitments going 3 times every week is a much better option than trying to go more and not achieving it.

Infact most of my clients only exercise 3 times per week and are still losing weight, feeling more confident and having to buy new clothes as they drop inches.

Training FULL BODY In each session allows you to make sure that every single muscle is being worked across the week..

The down side to this means that you will HAVE to train your legs as you can't skip it 😂😂

Your PT is lying to you..........

If you are not getting the results, looking and feeling better it's down to your actions

The fact that you are not sticking to your targets

The fact that when you go out each weekend you eat 6000 extra calories

The fact that you are not training or doing the steps that you have committed to

But your PT is telling you it's ok....

I'm here to tell you it's not ok

It's my job to challenge you

If you're not doing what you said you were going to do I will ask you why!

It's not glamorous, but it's what helps my clients get results like James above.

Are they perfect - No

Do they mess Up - Absolutely

But the fact that they have me to give actionable feedback in the moment and when they check in each week is absolutely massive to them and the results that they are achieving.
