Moorside Sports Club Ltd Moorside Cricket & Bowling Club is a charitable trust. It is open to anyone who wishes to become either a sporting or non-sporting member.

Moorside Sports Club Ltd (formerly Moorside Cricket & Bowling Club and Moorside Football Club) welcomes new playing members: Crown Green Bowls, Cricket & Football and non-playing members & their families who want to enjoy a great family atmosphere. It was first established as a Cricket Club in 1862. In 2012 the Club celebrated its 150 years anniversary. Our Bowls Section started in 1899. Our Club

premises and land is owned by the members. The Club has over 450 sporting and non-sporting members, and has very strong links within the local community. We have two senior Cricket teams, and, from 2022, a number of junior teams at all ages from Under 9 to Under 13. New cricketers of any age are always welcome. Our Crown Green Bowls section has several men's and ladies' teams (including veterans). Again we welcome any new bowlers (either with or without experience). In particular the Club is keen to attract younger players to the sport. The Club provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both playing and non-playing members. Sky Q UHD TV showing Sky Sports and BT Sports are available in the club. Our club house is available to members and non-members for bookings, (subject to availability). Between mid-April & mid-September, if there is a cricket fixture, the Club will only be available for hire AFTER 20:00. NOTE: it is not normally our policy to accept bookings for 18th and 21st birthdays unless these are club members or relatives of Club members. NOTE: The Clubhouse is ALWAYS open to Club members

Yesterday was a huge milestone for Moorside Ladies as we played our first ever hardball game in the Lancashire League Super 8s competition.
💚And what a way to start… with a win! 💚
Having built a fantastic softball section over the last few years, yesterday marked another exciting step in the journey as we took to the field for our first hardball match.
The commitment, encouragement and team spirit the ladies show week in, week out has been incredible. Seeing so many players challenge themselves, support each other and embrace something new made the occasion even more special.
Every player has been amazing, and yesterday was a day to remember! 🏏🏏

Through Lancashire Cricket Foundation and the Interleague programme, young cricketers are continuing to access fantastic opportunities to play, develop, and enjoy the game 🏏

An exciting Under-12 match at Westhoughton Cricket Club recently brought together players from all backgrounds to compete, have fun, and experience cricket at a high level for their age group.

These opportunities are helping to build confidence, develop skills, and grow a lifelong love of the game 🙌
