While supporting the local teams from the north in the CPAM tournament what better away to find a place where you can indulge with some gorgeous food.

The Snappy Chicken in Ilfords Aldborough road is one of the best tastiest food place you guys can try. It literally does all types of food that we enjoy in our daily busy life.

Give it a try guys, the management gave us a massive discount when we mentioned we all came from up north to enjoy one of the best cricket tournament in the UK.

Ali has been really great in sorting out the menu for the large number of empty stomachs. The succulent spicy chicken wings needs a massive mention here. I am sure Rigan will definitely head there when he is visiting london in the next couple of weeks

Stars had a wonderful day out in Cottingham playing against Hull lions in the friendship cup 2026

The game started pretty slow on a very hard pitch but as the game progressed you could imagine that it’s going to be a very competitive score when Hull lions accelerated their innings with some beautiful sixes finishing on 171 for 7 in 20 overs, Layek Ahmed taking 5 wickets.

Stars innings started just like Hull but lost some crucial wickets in the beginning. Then the big hitters took centre stage.
Well done to Tareq(65) and Nadeem (40)for their excellent partnership in taking the game away from Hull’s grasp and reaching the target in the 19th over,thus getting their hands on the friendship cup.

Stars would like to congratulate Hull Lions for hosting us right from ground hire to drinks and snacks and then to finish off with home made Biryani made by Hull lions team manager himself.

Respect and well done Hull lions CC, we will be having many more matches like this for many years to come.

What a remarkable game of cricket between oldham Stars and Rochdale Tigers in the OSO tournament.

After being bowled out for just 78 runs, it looked like the match was slipping away.

However, the team responded with incredible determination, discipline, and belief to produce one of the most memorable bowling performances imaginable.

The bowlers applied relentless pressure from the very first over, refusing to give the opposition any easy runs.

Wickets fell at regular intervals as every player contributed in the field with outstanding energy and commitment.

Against all expectations, the opposition were dismissed 10 runs short of the target, sealing an unbelievable victory.

The standout performance came from the Man of the Match shumon Ahmed who produced a spell for the ages:

🏏 5 Overs
🔥 2 Maidens
🎯 5 Wickets
💥 Only 6 Runs Conceded

A truly sensational display of bowling that completely changed the course of the match.

To defend a total of just 78 and win by 10 runs is a testament to the team’s fighting spirit, resilience, and never-give-up attitude.

Final Result:
78 All Out – yet Won by 10 Runs

Performances like this don’t come around often and will be remembered for a long time.

Stars would like to congratulate Rochdale Tigers on a truly remarkable game. They fought with great spirit, determination, and sportsmanship from start to finish, making this a fantastic contest for everyone involved.

Matches like these remind us why we love cricket, and we wish them all the very best for the rest of the season.

Well it’s been a whirlwind few weeks on the cricketing tour.

From representing the team in Cyprus at the International Freedom 50 Sporting Event, alongside some well-known figures from the Bangladeshi community, to returning home and finishing off a couple of games in the OSO Tournament, it’s certainly been an enjoyable few weeks. Add in a trip to Hull to take part in the Bangladesh District Cup, and it’s safe to say it’s been a busy but rewarding period. Now, it’s time for a well-earned breather.

A very special thanks to my dear brother Jabed Hussain from South Shields who organised this trip to Phapos, Cyprus.
Without him this tour would have been very challenging.

Next week, we wrap up our OSO Tournament campaign with our final match against Rochdale Tigers. We still have a slim chance of finishing second, so we’ll be giving it everything we’ve got.

The British weather seems to have turned the tide for the better now after having a 4 week layoff from not playing cricket, we are embarking on the red ball format being organised by OSO tournament organisers.

I hope everyone is enjoying the football world cup in the meantime,
we would also like to give a very warm welcome to Riyan Mehedi to our team.

He comes from a decent cricketing family background. Remains to be seen how he manages to keep his head down and concentrate on cricket rather than …….. 😂
