From the corner of a café in Devon, former archaeologist and historian, Jenny Kane, is currently having a wonderful time writing a brand new, cosy crime, series: The Fish and Chip Shop Detectives, for Hodder & Stoughton.

MYSTERY AT SEA...

Get ready to join the Fish and Chip Shop Detectives as they set sail on their latest investigation…

In the picturesque Cornish seaside village of Mousehole, Maggie and Ryan are busy running Robbins’ Fish and Chip Shop. They love nothing more than a cup of tea, a nice slice of cake… and solving a murder mystery.
But Maggie and Ryan weren’t expecting to find a dead body in the castle on St Michael’s Mount, a famous island known for its causeway that disappears under water at high tide.

Already searching for a local youth, Mitch, who’s been missing for three weeks, Maggie and Ryan fear the worst. Then when a fishing boat is stolen, the detectives begin to suspect that all three mysterious events are somehow connected…

Has Mitch found himself in at the deep end? And can the amateur sleuths solve their latest case before the truth is left out at sea?

As much as we're trying to ignore it, the weather has changed, the evenings are drawing in & we're firmly into Autumn! So, to lift the spirits we're cracking open the Pumpkin Spice & Jamie is getting extra creative with his coffee artwork 👌🏼That guy has a talent 🎃🤩

You can treat yourself to a Pumpkin Spice Latte all through the 'ber months! We'll have a freshly baked selection of locally made cakes to compliment them perfectly! Mmm 😋

We have just updated our business hours for the summer holidays. Open till 5pm in the week and 6pm at weekends. Why not drop in for a coffee, iced coffee, milkshake and maybe a bit of cake? The ice-creams are also going well in this hot weather!

🐾 DOG OF THE MONTH 🐾

Some more of our gorgeous pup visitors this month, headed up by Dexter. Very regal & slightly disgruntled that his brother Barney was featured previously & he wasn't!

Hopefully this makes up for it now! Sorry Dexter! There's a doggy sausage waiting for you on your next visit!

🚲🔐 FREE BIKE LOCKER STORAGE 🔐🚲

Hi folks, just to let you know...

We have 8 snazzy bike lockers available for use (for free), just outside the Granite Way Cycles Cafe!

If you are a regular commuter on the train for work or college & enjoy the burn of cycling up Station Road each time 💪🏼 you could store your bike here instead of taking it on the train with you!

Maybe you enjoy regular cycles along the Granite Way & could use the extra storage space at home?

Or you may be planning a stay at YHA Okehampton & have your bike with you! The lockers are the perfect place to store it!

Whatever your need, these lockers are available for the storage of bikes, e-bikes & biking related accessories, completely free.

There is a maximum hire of 3 months at a time, which can be renewed if needed! You can hire it for however long you need.

All you need to do is pop into Granite Way Cycles, fill in a form & collect your padlock & key! It's as easy as that!

You can find us just across the tracks from Okehampton Train Station 👍🏼
