Today’s Surrey Downs Division One League game: Ockley vs Sutton 🏏

Ockley welcomed league leaders Sutton to the club today, despite fielding a heavily depleted side due to illness, player availability and other absences. A number of players also turned out while feeling under the weather, but the team still gave it their all and ensured it was an enjoyable Saturday at the club.

Sutton posted 274/3, leaving Ockley a challenging chase. Despite the team's efforts, Ockley finished on 83 all out after just over 29 overs.

A special shout-out goes to Josh Harrison, who travelled all the way from Swansea, Wales, to play for his new club today. Great to have you on board Josh. Also, a huge thank you to Simon Wilson, Olli van Dongen, Jack Ayling and James Bulbeck for stepping up at short notice and helping us put a side out. Your commitment to the club is greatly appreciated.

Today’s Surrey Downs Division One League game: Ockley vs Capel 🏏

Today was HOT on and off the field, with bright sunshine throughout the game 🔥

We were treated to some fantastic cricket: Charlie Comer showed some superb fielding with a direct hit from just inside the boundary. Rhys Vaughan bowled “the ball of the season” with a superbly disguised ball out of the back of his hand that hit the top of off stump. Olly Downing added another brilliant direct hit to add to what was already a brilliant fielding display. Warren Vaughan, opening the batting, scored 99 not out to help guide Ockley to an emphatic win. It was an exciting game that was fought hard by both teams.

Ockley won by 8 wickets, earning 29 points after chasing Capel’s 167/9 and reaching 168/2 in just 28.3 overs.

Well done Ockley, and thank you to Capel for hosting us!

🏏 Saturday 16th May – Surrey Downs League, 1st Division🏏

Ockley took on Ockham in a hard-fought match this weekend. Ockley bowled Ockham all out for 149, but unfortunately things went downhill from there as Ockley were bowled out for 81 in 32 overs.

Despite the ominous grey clouds overhead, the rain thankfully held off long enough for the game to finish! 🌧️

A big welcome to Ben Preston and Jonathon Lucas Lucas to the club — we’re looking forward to seeing them involved throughout the rest of the season!

We’d also like to welcome anyone else interested in joining the club — new players and supporters are always welcome.

Today’s match was the 2nd of the season against Horsley & Send.

Beautiful day — perfect weather for a game of cricket. 🏏☀️

The opposition scored 169 all out in 40 overs. Ockley then knocked the runs off, reaching 170 for the loss of 4 wickets, with 10.2 overs still to spare.

All-round great game and lovely day!

🏏 Ockley Cricket Club – First League Match of the Season! (Saturday 2nd May- 1st game vs East Horsley)🏏

The new season is finally here, and there’s a real buzz around the club as we look forward to what promises to be one of the most exciting and vibrant years yet for Ockley Cricket Club.

This season, we are taking the next steps forward — by introducing a growing youth development program, guided and supported by senior players, and building a family orientated club that supports the village.

It’s fantastic to see so many people and families getting involved already along with local businesses who have helped sponsor and are supporting the club with our future plans.
