Learn to Nordic walk (properly) for free, it's not just walking with poles, it's much more, and as a group it's fun too. This month as well as normal intro sessions I have (by request) created a ladies only and men's only free intro session, come and join the fun.

Last nights walk with a wonderful view over Ardmucknish Bay to Cruachan in the distance, with No1 personal trainer, who hates getting his photo taken hence the sulk.

Right then! Some of you are wondering what Walx is?
1. It’s new to Oban, It’s a local business (run by Cameron Harris)
2. It’s affiliated to Nordic Walking UK groups nationally under the WALX brand
IT'S OBJECTIVES
1. To promote wellbeing and fitness in the community
2. To do so in outdoors in a fun sociable atmosphere
HOW DOES IT DO THIS?
1. By using walking as a start point for a multitude of activities.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES?
1. Wellness Walx. Entry level walking with some add on’s to help you improve
2. Total Body Walking, using poles and exercises to get the whole body working.
3. Nordic Walking, now you’re getting fitter
4. Ski fit, Get ready for the slopes
5. Wellness Forest bathing (Shinrin Yoku) thought provoking, relaxing good for the soul.
5. Explorer Walx, relaxed walks usually with a view.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK?
1. YES online at www.walx-westhighland.co.uk
2. Latest time to book 24 hrs before session starts (places are limited)
3. You will also have to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR_Q)
WHAT DOES IT COST ?
1. Discovery sessions are Free
2. Sessions start from £3 and average £6 for a 1 hr session
3. Private lessons are available (please enquire)

1. Currently Dunbeg and Benderloch (sessions in Oban coming soon)

WHAT ELSE?
1. On larger group sessions a pop-up café is available for a brew after the session

By this time next week the kids will be back at school and a lot of parents and grand-parents out there will be giving a sigh of relief. The summer hol's are over (what summer some say) Now it's your time to do something for yourself. Why not try one of our Discovery sessions, It's FREE and you get to find out what Walx is all about, so relax enjoy some company and the outdoors, there's weekday and weekend sessions over the next few weeks in Benderloch and Dunbeg so come and join in and have some fun.
