West Highland Yachting Week is a sailing regatta that moves from centre to centre, providing an ever-changing scene for competitors, both afloat and ashore. It is based in Oban, Tobermory (Isle of Mull) and Croabh on the west coast of Scotland. It is usually held in the first week of August each year.

The Family Boats that join the fleet each year are a much loved part of the WHYW community. This year we welcomed 11 boats with children on board. Every year each child competitor receives a goodie bag at the start of the week, and there are specific family-friendly activities laid on during the event including family ceilidhs, kids disco, paddle board races, and dinghy races.

This year we were delighted to be able to enhance the kids' experience of the week with support from the RYA Scotland Summer of Sailing - Community Youth Activation Fund, made possible thanks to the sportscotland Summer of Sport Fund. This fund contributed towards prizes made from recycled plastic and rubber for the beach clean activity in Craobh Haven, and to educational items in the goodie bags. Thank you so much! And thanks also the Lorn and Oban Reuse Initiative for lending us the beach cleaning equipment
