✈️ Unique Aviation Opportunity for Young People (Ages 13–18). This post is for Expressions of interest at this stage only, we can’t guarantee this project will proceed beyond this stage.

Connel Flying Club is seeking expressions of interest from young people with an enthusiasm for aviation or engineering for an exciting hands-on aircraft build project planned for 2026.

The club is currently in discussions with stakeholders to secure a part-completed light aircraft build project. If successful, this would offer local young people the opportunity to:

🔧 Help complete the build of a real aircraft
📘 Learn practical engineering and aviation skills
👨‍✈️ Work alongside experienced club members
🛩 Take part in the test flight programme
✈️ Experience flying in the aircraft they helped build

The project would be delivered in a structured and well-supported environment, with further details shared with those who register an interest.

Thanks to everyone for all the support and making this event possible.

Today was INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much to everyone who came along to Oban Airport today to meet our very special guest! This whole event would not have been possible without the immense support for a whole load of amazing people, businesses, organisations and supporters.
Today was a joint event between the Oban Winter Festival and the Connel Flying Club , without their support, encouragement, venue and participation today would simply not have been possible! And of course, for providing the express North Pole flight for Santa!

Some more thank you's for some of the fantastic folks that helped today happen, and host it as a free event!

Santa arriving yesterday.
