A Milestone Moment for Scottish Karate!

Last night, the Scottish Karate Council held its first Annual General Meeting, and what a year it has been!

👏 Congratulations to our re-elected Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer as they embark on their second terms. Their dedication has been instrumental in shaping this governing body’s first year.

✨ Year One Highlights:
✅ Development of a robust governance framework prioritising safe practice and inclusivity.
✅ Introduction of key policies on Safeguarding & Child Protection, Data Protection, and Equality.
✅ Focused efforts on recruiting and onboarding new members
✅ Accreditation of skilled karate coaches to maintain the highest standards and deliver safe practice.

🌟 Looking Ahead:
The Board is gearing up for an even bigger Year Two! Plans include:
💡 Expanding recruitment efforts and creating more opportunities for safe karate participation for all in Scotland.
📚 Proving meaningful and insightful training opportunities for members and coaches.
🥋 Hosting the inaugural SKC Scottish Karate Championships – a landmark event to set the benchmark for wholly inclusive karate competition in Scotland.

At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to safe, inclusive and accessible karate participation for all, which is politic free and irrespective of style. Let’s keep building a stronger, united karate community across Scotland!
