GTUK is a sister club to Stamford GTUK which has been established at the Bluecoat School for over ten years, and is run by Mr. Richard Auciello, 6th Degree Black belt. All GTUK instructors hold Indemnity Insurance and are checked with the CRB prior to becoming an instructor! Mr Auciello has been training since the age of 8, and was promoted in October 2010 to 6th Degree in Coventry, making him one of the youngest 6th Degree in Europe! He has many titles, national and International medals to his name, but one of the most outstanding being his Individual World Gold Medal, which he also won in Italy 2000, after which he retired from the International circuit and as Captain of the England team. Mr Auciello then went on to coach the England squad and is the current manager of the squad and coaches. Mr Auciello was awarded the Lincolnshire Performance coach of the year 2005 in recognition of his own achievements and his dedication to his students both locally, nationally and internationally. He is also proud to have a number of pupils from the Stamford club who have also competed for England at both junior and senior level. It is not only the physical successes that are important to Mr Auciello, but also that of students whose lives have been improved through doing TaeKwon Do. He teaches students who suffer with learning difficulties and one particular student who suffers with Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of autism. Graham Henson started TaeKwon Do hardly able to stand on one leg, and has managed through careful instruction and determination to make it to Black belt. Graham was awarded Stamford’s student of the Year in 2003 and went on to be given a BBC East Midlands award for special achievement in Dec 2005. Training sessions are held every Saturday morning , between 10am and 11am for juniors and 11am to 12am for seniors. New students can wear loose clothing, such as tracksuit bottoms and a T Shirt.
