Plot twist: the goal doesn’t always have to be getting smaller 💅✨

More muscle. More strength. More food. More capable 🏋️‍♀️🍝

Taking up a little more space is actually kinda chic 💁‍♀️💪

Send this to someone who needs a new fitness goal 👀💕

Run 1 is officially in the bag and I can already tell this is going to be a beautifully chaotic journey 😂🏃‍♀️
I’ve somehow gone from doing basically no running to having a half marathon looming over me like an unpaid bill. Excellent planning from me, as always 🤝🤡
Today’s mission was simply to get out, keep it steady and start building some actual running fitness. Nothing dramatic.
Naturally, within one run I’d questioned my life choices, negotiated extensively with myself and temporarily lost the dogs to the local wildlife 🦌🐕💨
But… I DID IT. And that’s sort of the point.
I don’t need every run to be pretty, fast or particularly enjoyable. I just need to keep turning up and hope that somewhere along the way my body gets the memo that we’re running 21.1km in October 😂
19 runs sounded quite a lot before today.
18 suddenly sounds alarmingly few.
1 down. 18 to go 🫡🏃‍♀️
Place your bets now: half marathon finisher 🏅 or found crying in a hedge at mile 9? 👇😂

“I’ve grown so much physically AND mentally.” 🥹💪
This came from a lovely review left on my website by someone who’s been coming to Euphoria classes for a few years — and honestly, this is what it’s all about.
Not just calories burned or how sweaty you can get in an hour 😂
It’s getting stronger. Clearing your head. Having somewhere to dump the stress of the day. Being around good people. Having a laugh while also being mildly bullied by me into doing another rep. 💅
Physical health 🤝 mental health 🤝 a bit of a social life
Very efficient use of an hour, really.

There’s a very specific stage of strength training where “I want to look better” quietly gets replaced by “I wonder how heavy I can actually go?” 😂🏋️‍♀️
And THAT is where it gets addictive.
Because watching your body change is great… but watching yourself do something you genuinely didn’t think you were capable of? Different level 💪🧠
The confidence starts following you outside the gym too. You feel more capable, more resilient and significantly less interested in making yourself smaller.
And if your lift occasionally causes a nearby man to do a subtle double take…
Well.
That’s not why we’re here. But it’s certainly not ruining the experience 💅😂

The relationship between a PT and their client is built on trust ❤️
Which is lovely, because both parties are lying for most of the session 😂
The client is pretending they’re fine.
The PT is pretending “nearly done” has a legally binding definition.
And somehow everyone comes back next week 🤝
Tag your PT/client if your relationship is basically encouragement, betrayal and increasingly heavy dumbbells. 💀😂
Some thoughts really are better left unsent x

Apparently Euphoria Fitness is a terrible place to train ⭐️
You might join because you want to get a bit stronger… and before you know it:
🙄 You’re stronger AND more confident. Rude.
🏃 You’ve somehow knocked years off your half marathon PB. Completely unnecessary.
😂 You start actually looking forward to exercise. Concerning behaviour.
🏋️ Every time you get stronger, I have the audacity to make things harder.
👯 You come to a class and people are FRIENDLY and actually TALK TO YOU?! Nightmare.
🐶 And to top it all off, Luca & Ezra will sit there doing absolutely nothing while silently judging your technique.
⭐ 1/5. Awful. Avoid at all costs.
Unfortunately for us, our actual Google reviews have ruined the joke with a 4.9⭐ rating 🙄😂
So if you’re looking for a gym where you can get stronger, build confidence, meet some genuinely lovely people and maybe even start enjoying exercise...
Sorry. You’ve found it 😂
Side effects may include increased strength, suspicious amounts of confidence and running out of excuses

Plot twist: not everyone trying to lose body fat wants to be as small as possible. 👀
There’s a BIG difference between:
👉 “I want the number on the scales to come down as quickly as possible.”
and…
👉 “I want to lose body fat, but I also want to eat properly, train hard, get stronger and keep as much muscle as possible.”
Both are fat-loss goals. But the process — and what you prioritise — can look very different.
Here’s the sciencey bit without turning this into a biology lesson 😂👇
To lose body fat, you need to be in an energy deficit over time. That bit hasn’t changed.
But bigger deficit ≠ automatically better results.
If calories get very low, it can become harder to fuel your training, recover properly and get enough protein and nutrients. And the faster you lose weight, the more attention you need to pay to preserving lean mass, rather than just celebrating that the scale is dropping. 📉
If your goal is fat loss + keeping muscle, the boring basics are still bloody effective:
🏋️‍♀️ Strength train and give your muscles a reason to stick around
🥩 Eat enough protein
🍚 Keep enough food coming in to actually fuel decent training
🚶‍♀️ Move your body
😴 Recover
📉 Use a sensible calorie deficit you can maintain
And yes, this might mean your weight comes down more slowly.
But if you’re getting stronger, maintaining muscle, performing well AND gradually losing body fat… slower doesn’t mean worse.
Weight-loss medications can be a genuinely useful tool for some people and there’s no judgement here for using them. They can make maintaining a calorie deficit easier, particularly by reducing appetite and food intake.
But they’re a tool, not the definition of successful fat loss.
As a PT, I’m far more interested in asking:
What do you actually want your body to be able to DO while you’re losing fat?
Because if your answer is lift heavy, run, have energy, keep my muscle and still enjoy a meal out…
Your goal isn’t simply “weigh less.”
And I think there are a LOT more people in that camp than social media currently makes it seem 👀💪😂
