Long post …
A few months ago I picked up an injury. A ni**le at the back of my right knee that I ignored for a while, but wouldn’t p**s off.
It stopped me doing what I loved - weightlifting.
I did what most people would do. Throw a bit of strop 😠, “If I can’t do what I like, then screw it. I’ll drink beer and eat pizza”.
It doesn’t need to be this way.
With good programming, and a good coach you can still move forward, rehab injuries and get stronger.
My knee is almost fixed. By swapping high bar squats for low bar, increasing deadlifts and incorporating zercher squats I’m actually stronger all round. I’ve learned new skills and I’m still moving forward.
Look for the opportunity, not the negative, find knowledgeable people - there’s almost always a “way” and trust the process.
I’ll be back to Olympic lifting soon 🙂.
Punch like and follow if you want to follow my journey 🙂
