Sub 40 MIN 10K βœ…οΈ

This is what I've been working towards since I started training specifically for running 2 months ago!

Todays official time was 39:55 for 10k πŸ˜… completed on the treadmill. I much prefer outdoor running but today was all about pace setting and seeing what I could maintain for the 10k distance!

All in preparation for the Whissendine 6, which I'm going into having given training absolutely everything, and we're right on track for a great finish time πŸ‘Š

It's all about having the right training plan. Which if you didn't know already, I can create for you 😜

The most beautiful day celebrating my 28th birthday today with my beautiful family!

Gorgeous weather, hired out a boat with a vegan turkish buffet, a plant based cake made locally, plenty of swimming and paddleboarding is literally my idea of the perfect birthday.

This is exactly what my girl
organised for me today. I'm the luckiest man alive to have these people around me 😍

71kg. The priority was strength training, putting on muscle and as a result of the calorie surplus, being a little heavier round the middle.

63kg. The priority is training for a 10k race. Still maintaining strength, the fittest I've ever been and still maintaining muscle mass on just two strength sessions a week!

So happy with how this process has turned out, and it has taught me exactly the best way to train for optimal health.

Rather than sticking to one type of training (strength, endurance, yoga ect) incorporate all into your training program if you want to be your healthiest. And if you don't know how to structure that plan, drop me a message 😜

Worried about losing gains whilst away?

The truth is, you won't! Not in a 1-2 week holiday. So if you want to rest up, do so! Your body needs it every so often.

But if you are keeping on top of things and want to keep up good nutrition, here are the high protein, low sugar and saturated fat foods that I take with me and recommend highly! πŸ’ͺ

One benefit of strength training is being able to keep hold of a beautiful little lady when she's stressed out and her mamma needs rest!

Fingers crossed Chelsey wakes up feeling back to her best. What's the betting I catch the bug either for my birthday on sunday or on monday when we fly back ?!πŸ™„

SPRINTS πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

These treadmil sprints have helped me get to a 41:44 min 10k and in the shape of my life. Give them a go if you're brave enough πŸ‘€

0.5k warm up walk at 7.5kmph
0.4k warm up jog at 10kmph

Onto sprints,increasing the pace by 0.5kmph with every sprint:

400m 17kmph -200m rest between sprints
400m 17.5kmph
400m 18kmph
400m 18.5kmph

300m 19kmph - 200m rest between sprints
300m 19.5kmph
300m 20kmph
300m 20.1kmph

200m 21kmph - 200m rest between sprints
200m 21.5kmph
200m 22kmph
200m 22.5kmph

100m 23kmph - 100m rest between sprints
100m 23kmph incline 1
100m 23kpmh incline 2
100m 23kmph incline 3

50m 23kmph incline 4 - 50m rest between sprints
