Fabulous Bank Holiday Weekend for AFTR! Huge congrats to Chris for finishing the CCC at UTMB, whilst rest of us were dot watching and cheering on from home 🙌 Plus group running of course… rain, sun, long, short- all sorts of adventures 🥰

Today was an adventurous 'expotition' run in honour of 100 years of Winnie the Pooh! We had two groups exploring the key sites named in the WTP adventures; a 5 mile group and an 11 mile group, we luckily found each other at Pooh Car Park to run to Pooh Bridge together! We explored The Enchanted Place (Gills Lap), Heffalump Trap, Poohs House, Pooh Sticks Bridge, A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard Memorial, Roos Sandy Pit, The North Pole and Eeyores Gloomy Place! Some of us also carried on to circle some of the Ashdown Forest Clumps; Greenwood Gate, Kings Standing, Crows Nest, Camp Hill and Friends.

From raincoats to sunglasses - what a mixed week we had on the trails 🌧️ 💨 ☀️ But always running, always smiling, and grateful to be able to explore the beautiful Ashdown Forest 🌳 💚

Today was a special day 💚 Look at all the runners from AFTR ready for the Weald Challenge! I think we had the biggest club representation this year 🥳 Such a fantastic Half Marathon event for all, well done everyone but especially to Nick, Ali and Ed who earned 1st Male, 1st Female and 1st V40 Male awards 🏆 It’s not an easy course, but it’s one for the annual race calendar 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ Thank you to Uckfield Runners for organising another great Weald Challenge 💚 See you next year 🤩

We had an adventurous week and weekend at AFTR! We outran dark clouds, ran away from castles, ran around lakes, dot watched, supported, encouraged, got a few medals and planned the next run! Being a part of AFTR isn’t just about running, it’s the community we’re building 🤗 from Snowdon to Keswick to Nutley- we were with each other every step of the way 💚

SheRaces Ultra – Female Marshals Required!

Please email us on [email protected] if you’re available on Sunday 5th July.

We need as many marshals as possible to support our SheRaces Ultra from the Denbies W**e Estate and the surrounding area on Sunday 5th July 2026.

Roles range from route marshalling, aid station marshalling, and supervising road crossings and we require a few tail walkers for each distance 10k, 25k and 50k.

Each marshal gets a free future entry to a Phoenix Running event as well as the chance to support women in running and to spend the day in great company!
