Today was a special day 💚 Look at all the runners from AFTR ready for the Weald Challenge! I think we had the biggest club representation this year 🥳 Such a fantastic Half Marathon event for all, well done everyone but especially to Nick, Ali and Ed who earned 1st Male, 1st Female and 1st V40 Male awards 🏆 It’s not an easy course, but it’s one for the annual race calendar 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ Thank you to Uckfield Runners for organising another great Weald Challenge 💚 See you next year 🤩

We had an adventurous week and weekend at AFTR! We outran dark clouds, ran away from castles, ran around lakes, dot watched, supported, encouraged, got a few medals and planned the next run! Being a part of AFTR isn’t just about running, it’s the community we’re building 🤗 from Snowdon to Keswick to Nutley- we were with each other every step of the way 💚

SheRaces Ultra – Female Marshals Required!

Please email us on [email protected] if you’re available on Sunday 5th July.

We need as many marshals as possible to support our SheRaces Ultra from the Denbies Wine Estate and the surrounding area on Sunday 5th July 2026.

Roles range from route marshalling, aid station marshalling, and supervising road crossings and we require a few tail walkers for each distance 10k, 25k and 50k.

Each marshal gets a free future entry to a Phoenix Running event as well as the chance to support women in running and to spend the day in great company!

Out for a Bank Holiday run tomorrow? Why not run by Nutley and grab a cake and coffee to fuel? This is to help support our wonderful cafe here In Nutley 💔

The Coffee House Nutley was unfortunately hit by a lorry and has suffered significant damage. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured. It’s especially heartbreaking as they were due to celebrate their first anniversary this weekend 🥹

To show some support, the community have arranged a small fundraising birthday event this Monday, 4th May, at Nutley Social Club. There’ll be cakes, coffee, and more available.

It’s running from 10am to 2pm — it would be great to see as many people there as possible.

It’s another Medal Monday!! This month has been full of events for AFTR, and yesterday some of us had the joy of running the London Marathon. Realising afterwards that we were part of the same race where the top two male runners finished sub 2hrs, and a new women’s world record too, was incredible!
So many other events this month- got a medal selfie to share? Please do!

Congratulations to everyone who battled the wind down in Brighton today! We had runners taking on the Brighton Marathon and the Brighton Trail Marathon (which joined the road course with 6k to go!). They’ve reported it was hard work and tough conditions, but you all absolutely smashed it - a marathon is never easy, but it’s an amazing challenge to complete. Well Done All!!

AFTR on tour is officially underway 🌿🏃‍♀️

Today we kicked things off in Lewes and the South Downs with a stunning 17km of rolling hills, sunshine and some seriously good views. The perfect mix of challenge, chat and great company, finished off (as it should be) with a hot drink and cake ☕🍰

Once a month, we’ll be heading somewhere new across East and West Sussex to explore more trails together.
