🔴🟡 WEEKEND RESULTS 🟡🔴

Fantastic opening weekend for the Spartans!

1st team putting in a top performance yesterday at Bermuda, coming away with an impressive 3-1 win against North Kilworth. Goals coming from 17.Iccy, 7.Lewis & 4.Jan! MOTM going to 4.Jan topping off an incredible debut with a well deserved goal!

Our new look women’s team were very unlucky this afternoon finishing on the wrong end of a 5-4 scoreline. Regardless of the final result, phenomenal work rate & performance from our Spartans! 11.Beth, 8.Dani 2 & 7.Lilly with the goals, 7.Lilly also coming away with the POTM award!

A huge well done to our brand new Sparta Under 7’s side who made their debut on Saturday against Leamington. Great performance from all the players, love seeing all the hard work from over the last year now on the pitch, can’t wait to go again next week!

Shoutout to our brand new Sparta Under 8’s team who after a cancellation at the last minute organised an in house where the team got together and had a friendly match in preparation for next weeks 1st league match!

Huge thankyou to all of the Spartan army who came out to support all of our teams & players this weekend, we can’t wait to do it all again next week!

🔴🟡 WEEKEND FIXTURES 🟡🔴

This weekend the Spartans are back!!
We have 3 matches to kick off the new season for Spartan army!

Kicking us off this weekend is a match that has had the club excited for a while & it’s the debut of our brand new under 7 Spartans!
Our youngest side make the trip over to Leamington tomorrow morning for the early kick off!

Then it’s over to our 1st team tomorrow afternoon who host North Kilworth at Bermuda for our season opener.After an impressive pre season & some new faces making there debut the lads can’t wait to get going now!

Finally finishing off our weekend on Sunday afternoon it’s the Women’s team who also get there season underway at Bermuda, Northfield town are the visitors with the girls looking for a strong start to the campaign!

Bar will be open at Bermuda, free entry with everyone welcome as always!

Our Mini Ballers sessions have been SO successful over their first year that we have officially launched TWO brand new junior teams over the summer with our new Under 7s & Under 8s kicking off their season this weekend! 🚀⚽

This is what Mini Ballers is all about, building a clear pathway for your child to learn, grow, and step into competitive grassroots football when they’re ready!

With the majority of last years group moving up to start their team journeys, we now have fresh availability for the next generation of Spartans to get involved!

⚽️ What’s it all about?
Sessions are planned specifically for ages 3–6 by our qualified coaches. We focus on active play, core football basics, confidence-building, and making lifelong friends in a fun, safe, family friendly environment.

PLAYERS WANTED!

The journey starts here! Our brand new under 7’s squad kick off their very first season this weekend & we have the last couple of spaces in our fantastic squad!

If your child is football mad and heading into year 2 this September this is the perfect time to get them involved in the game. At Athletic Sparta we pride ourselves on building a welcoming, family first environment where kids can grow, learn & develop their love for football!

🔴🟡 2026/27 SQUAD 🟡🔴

With less than 2 weeks until we kick off our new campaign, we’re delighted to announce our next 5 Spartans signing for the 1st team this season!

First up we have an exciting new signing joining the Spartans, we welcome 18.Kyri Neophytou!
The young centre half joins the club after coming in and impressing over pre season. Kyri adds further quality to our defensive core, a ball playing centre back who enjoys getting stuck in. We look forward to watching Kyri in a Sparta shirt this season!

Another new Spartan for the 2026/27 season we’re delighted to welcome 21.Jack Evans!
Jack is a young left footed full back who has done really well over pre season. Solid defensively, Jack enjoys getting on the ball and looking to create from deep. Another exciting new signing we welcome to Bermuda this season!

Next, we’re excited to welcome back a fans favourite to the club, 23.Leighton Mills!
The versatile defender returns to Bermuda after having a few seasons away. A player who is no stranger to the Spartan army after featuring 29 times for the club in the past. We’re looking forward to watching him back in a Sparta shirt this season!

Our next returning Spartan for this season, we are delighted to welcome back 24.Reeve Deely!
Another player who is adored throughout the Spartan Army, he returns to Bermuda looking to add to his 13 goals in 30 appearances that he already has for the club. Reeve adds more quality & depth to an already exciting attacking core for the 2026/27 season.

Our 5th & final signing announcement today & we’re pleased to welcome another returning Spartan to the club, 26.Haydn Beale!
The versatile wide man has consistently brought quality depth to the squad every time he has worn the shirt over recent seasons. We are delighted to see Beale back at Bermuda for the campaign ahead!

Last night The Spartans were in pre season action once again as we made the short trip over to Windmill Borough.

Strong performance all round seen us come away with a 3-1 win & more vital minutes in the tank ready for September! Goals from 16.Augusto, 7.LTS & 8.Duffy!

🔴🟡 2026/27 SQUAD 🟡🔴

What better way to end the week than with your next 5 Spartans for the 2026/27 season!

Kicking us off we are delighted to welcome a new signing to the club, 4.Jan Rozanski!
The young technical midfielder signs for the Spartans after impressing over pre season. Already featuring in a number of roles over our recent friendlies we look forward to watching the versatile midfielder in a Sparta shirt!

Next up is a player who we’re excited to see returning to Bermuda, 7.Liam Kai!
A central midfielder who already has an outstanding reputation throughout the club, LTS will be a huge addition to our squad for the 26/27 season. Currently sitting on 19 appearances for the Spartans with hopefully many more to come this campaign!

Another player we are delighted to welcome back to the club is 9.Mike Sadler!
The fan favourite returns to Bermuda after having a couple of seasons out. Currently sitting on 11 goals in 24 matches for the club we look forward to seeing Sadler back in the Sparta front 3 this season!

Next returning Spartan this season is versatile midfielder, 19.Alex Charley!
Alex came in last summer and settled into the squad quickly. Playing lot of minutes in either the midfield three or at fullback last campaign. Currently sitting on 21 appearances after his debut season we’re excited to welcome Alex back at Sparta this year!

Our 5th & final signing announcement of this evening & we’re pleased to welcome another new face to the club, 20.Leslie Egobueze!
The tenacious midfielder joins the squad after impressing over the summer. An out & out defensive midfielder, Leslie has shown huge maturity in the role already over pre season. Another new signing we’re excited to watch this coming season!

🔴🟡 PRE SEASON 🟡🔴

Last night our men’s team had their 3rd friendly of our pre season schedule as we made the short trip over to Jet Blades in 35 degree heat.

Impressive performance all round from the 21 Spartans involved with plenty of positives to take. 10 changes made at half time with only goalkeeper Dev playing the full 90. Goals coming from Iccy 2, Reeve 2 & Pat!

Huge thankyou to Jet Blades who were fantastic hosts as always, we wish the lads the very best for the season ahead!
