A fantastic display from the lads tonight, particularly in the second half, against a very strong Kingsbury side.

Olly raced down the wing before delivering a superb cross for Noel to rise highest and head home.

⚽ 25’ — 1-1

⚽ 26’ — 2-1 | Noel
Joey’s effort was parried by the keeper, but Noel was quickest to react and finished the rebound.

HALF TIME — 2-1

⚽ 49’ — 3-1 | Own Goal
Olly’s dangerous cross from the left took a deflection off a Kingsbury defender and found the back of the net.

⚽ 52’ — 4-1 | Own Goal
Noel’s shot was deflected past the keeper by another defender as the Swifts continued to apply the pressure.

⚽ 60’ — 5-1 | Olly
A brilliant solo run from his own half saw Olly drive forward before calmly finishing into the bottom corner.

⚽ 66’ — 6-1 | Olly
And what a way to finish! Another superb solo effort, with Olly letting fly from around 25 yards and finding the top corner. 🚀

With manager Stew away with work commitments, Pete was drafted in to help out tonight, which was massively appreciated. 👏

A really impressive performance from the lads against a very strong Kingsbury team. Some lovely football was played, with top performances all over the pitch.

Plenty of positives to take, and now we look to carry this into the weekend. 💪

⚽️ PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY | Nuneaton Boro 2-2 St Nicolas Swifts ⚽️

Our first opportunity to stretch the lads’ legs since our cup final victory saw us travel to Nuneaton Boro for what proved to be an excellent pre-season test.

Considering the conditions—a poor pitch, a big and physical opposition, several players unavailable, and a few injuries on the day—the lads put in a really encouraging performance. We controlled much of the game and, apart from the first 15 minutes after half-time, were the better side throughout.

Will A opened the scoring with a composed finish, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner to give us a deserved lead, and the Swifts went into the break 1-0 up after an impressive first-half display.

Nuneaton Boro came out strongly after half-time and enjoyed their best spell of the game, scoring twice to turn the match around and lead 2-1. To the lads’ credit, they responded brilliantly, regained control of the game, and were rewarded when Noel was brought down in the penalty area. Noel confidently stepped up to convert the penalty he had won, making it 2-2 and ensuring the game finished all square.

There were plenty of positives to take from the afternoon. It was a competitive battle, a great fitness builder, and exactly the type of challenge we wanted to begin our pre-season campaign.
