Nuneaton Old Edwardians is a progressive rugby club based among the leafy green fields of Weddington in Nuneaton bounded by the gently winding river Anker. This friendly rugby club offers fabulous facilities: a viewing gallery for spectators with two floodlit pitches, some of the finest scenery to be found at any rugby club in the country and a clubhouse and function venue that is idealy suited to
host weddings, birthdays, funerals and charity functions with a capacity in excess of 250. The Old Eds run two senior sides and a Vets on Saturday afternoons and started a Junior Academy in 2016... why not bring your children to RFU approved training sessions at 10:15am on Sunday mornings where safeguarding is very much the watchword. The First XV of the club is at present playing in the Midlands 2 West (South) League. Players and committee alike are dedicated to growing the membership of the club and improving its league status by attracting new players and improving the skills of existing players. Players train twice a week under the guidance of Wasps' Jimmy Gopperth (Premiership Player of the Year 2016/17) and fellow Wasp James Gaskell, previous captain of England Saxons. From November 2016 the club has been collaborating with the RFU and local middle and secondary schools to bring mini and junior rugby to Weddington. Join us at 10:15 am every Sunday morning for either out of season touch rugby or regular training and games during the season. Players receive a free breakfast and refreshments after training. The Club was founded on the 18th February, 1910, initially to provide rugby football for the Old Boys of King Edward VI Grammar School. Over the 110 years of the club's existence it has gained a reputation for friendliness off the field whilst retaining a healthy competitiveness on it.
