In Senior cross country, Michele Kondakor and Carolyn Derbyshire finished off the last race in the Derby runner league race at race Dieu completing 5.30 miles in very tough conditions

They all did amazingly well and embraced the challenge, we are really proud of them all.

🌧️🏃 Huge Congratulations to Everyone Who Completed Couch to 5K in Today’s Pouring Rain! 🏃🌧️

What an absolutely incredible effort from every single one of you. Finishing a 5K is an achievement on its own—but doing it in relentless rain, soaked shoes, and winds that definitely weren’t helping?

That takes grit, determination, and serious heart.
You showed up.
You pushed through.

You proved to yourselves that you can do hard things—even when the weather does everything it can to stop you.
Be proud of those miles, proud of your progress, and proud of the person who kept going when most people would’ve stayed home with a cup of tea. ☕💪

Here’s to warm showers, dry socks, and that unbeatable feeling of knowing you earned every step.

Well done, legends! 🎉👏🌟

Message From *Paul Smith*

*Social Activity Volunteers*
One of the ways we are looking to grow the club is by improving the social aspect of what we do. The idea is to build an aspect to the club away from the track, formal sessions or races, where members can get together to socialise more often.
To get this going I am looking for some members to get together to form a small working group on how we can do this, with one person eventually taking a role as Social Activity Co-ordinator. This would be a non-committee role, so no requirement to attend committee meetings.
The initial idea is to have a more structured approach to the social side of the club, with activities planned and communicated well in advance. Ideas could include, monthly parkrun meet ups with coffee afterwards, trips out (for example to an event at Alexandra Stadium), club socials at the track or nights out (curry, quizzes, or comedy). These are only a few ideas but there are certainly many more we could consider.
If anyone is interested in being part of the initial group, or the co-ordinator in the longer term please drop me a message or add a comment to this post and I’ll set up a kick-off meeting.

10/03/2026

The AGM is upon us!
24th April , 7pm for a prompt 7.15pm start

Bar will be open so we'd also like to make this a social event

Couple of points of order to help the meeting run smoothly

* Anyone may attend the AGM, but only first-claim members can vote
* Any proposals to be considered should be submitted in advance

Please come along!
